§ 01Overview

What the ICP-SOL4-P is

The Bosch ICP-SOL4-P is the Solution 4000 panel, the step up from the Solution 2000 and 3000 for a site that needs more zones, more users or a controlled door. It carries 32 fully programmable intrusion zones, up to 16 on the board itself and the rest through a B228 input expander or a RADION wireless receiver, and it can be split into two partitions with STAY and AWAY arming so one system protects two areas.

Door control is built into the panel's programming rather than bolted on. Up to 4 B901 door controllers add 4 door zones, and the assigned codepad, A-Link Plus software or the RSC+ app can cycle, lock, unlock, secure and unsecure a door. There are 65 codes, one installer and 64 users, each of whom can hold a PIN, a keyfob or a card credential.

Reporting covers the monitored and the self-monitored site. CID, SIA and domestic dialling come from the board; Email, CSV-IP and push notifications need a B426-M Ethernet or B450-M cellular communicator, up to two of which can be fitted, and the IP module's CSV-IP technology makes the panel NBN-ready with most monitoring centres in Australia and New Zealand. The Remote Security Control Plus app arms, disarms and switches outputs from a phone once a communicator is fitted and the panel firmware is at V2.0 or later.

Wireless is a choice of two systems that cannot be fitted together: the WE800EV2 keyfob receiver, or a B810 receiver for the RADION range with up to 8 RF repeaters. The board also takes up to three of each expander, B228 for inputs and B308 for outputs, and up to four keypads.

It is a bare board. The enclosure, the TF008 plug pack, the 12 VDC, 6.5Ah battery, the keypads, detectors and communicators are all separate, and the SDI2 bus power is finite, so a TouchOne Mini touchscreen needs its own 12 V supply. The board measures 103 mm x 183 mm x 28 mm, is rated for 0 °C – 45 °C, and carries a 3 years warranty.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the ICP-SOL4-P

Alarm and doors in one system

The Bosch ICP-SOL4-P adds up to 4 door zones through B901 door controllers and lets the codepad, A-Link Plus or the RSC+ app cycle, lock and unlock them. A small office gets access control without a second system.

Room to grow to 32 zones

Sixteen zones sit on the board and another sixteen come through a B228 expander or a RADION wireless receiver. Wired detectors in the main building and wireless ones in the shed share one panel.

One panel, two areas

Two partitions with STAY and AWAY arming let a home and a granny flat, or a shop and its office, arm independently. Up to four keypads spread control across the site.

Credentials for everyone

Sixty-four user codes, each able to carry a PIN, a keyfob or a card, mean staff and family members do not share codes. The installer code is separate.

Reports the way the monitoring centre wants

CID, SIA and domestic dialling are on the board, and a B426-M or B450-M communicator adds Email, CSV-IP and push notifications. Up to two communicators give a wired and a cellular path.

Control from a phone

The Remote Security Control Plus app arms and disarms, switches outputs and controls doors from a phone or tablet. It needs a communicator on the panel and firmware V2.0 or later.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Small office with a controlled front door

The Bosch ICP-SOL4-P protects the office with wired detectors and runs the entry door through a B901 controller, so staff use one card or PIN for the alarm and the door. Up to two B426-M or B450-M communicators can be fitted for IP and mobile reporting.

Australian home with a granny flat or shed

Two partitions let the main house and the flat arm separately, and a RADION receiver puts wireless detectors in the shed without trenching cable. A TouchOne Mini at the front door and an icon keypad at the back cover both entries.

Shop with after-hours access

Cleaners and contractors get their own user codes and card credentials, and door commands from the RSC+ app let the owner unlock for a delivery from a phone. Push notifications reach the owner's phone through the RSC+ app.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

The Bosch ICP-SOL4-P arrives as the control panel PCBA with a hardware pack and a quick user guide. The ICP-SOL-ENC enclosure, TF008 plug pack, 12 VDC 6.5Ah battery, keypads, detectors and communicators are ordered separately.

02

Enclosure and power

Mount the board in the ICP-SOL-ENC steel enclosure, fit the TF008 plug pack as the primary supply and the 12 VDC, 6.5Ah sealed lead-acid battery as the secondary. The SDI2 bus power is finite: the bus supplies 900 mA in total and a TouchOne Mini touchscreen draws most of that on its own, so it needs its own supply.

03

Zones and cabling

Plan up to 16 wired zones on the board and add a B228 expander or a RADION receiver for the rest, with one cable run per wired zone back to the board and one SDI2 bus run per keypad or module, each kept within the length the installation manual allows for the cable type. A B901 controller and its reader wiring serve each controlled door.

04

Keypads and wireless

Fit up to four keypads and enable and assign each one to a partition. Choose the WE800EV2 keyfob receiver or a B810 RADION receiver, not both.

05

Communicator and app

Fit a B426-M or B450-M for IP or cellular reporting, then create the panel profile in the RSC+ app from the Cloud ID printed on the module and connect with the profile name and the arming code. Cloud connection needs firmware V2.0 or later.

06

When to call an electrician

The panel runs from a plug pack, so the alarm wiring itself is installer work. Use a licensed electrician for any new power point or fixed mains wiring, and a licensed security installer for the programming and door-control setup.

§ 08Questions

Frequently asked about the ICP-SOL4-P

Q.01

How many zones does the Bosch ICP-SOL4-P support?

The Bosch ICP-SOL4-P supports 32 intrusion zones, up to 16 on the board and the other 16 hardwired through a B228 module or supplied by a RADION wireless receiver. It also supports 4 door zones through B901 door controllers.
Q.02

How does door control work?

Each B901 door controller adds a supervised, addressable door on the SDI2 bus, up to four per panel. The assigned codepad, A-Link Plus software or the RSC+ app can cycle, lock, unlock, secure and unsecure the door.
Q.03

How many users and areas does it support?

Sixty-five codes, one installer and 64 users, each able to hold a PIN, keyfob or card credential. The system can be split into two partitions with STAY and AWAY arming and take up to four keypads.
Q.04

Which keypads work with it?

The IUI-SOL-ICON icon keypad, the IUI-SOL-TEXT text keypad, the IUI-SOL-TS5 TouchOne Mini and the IUI-SOL-TS7 TouchOne 7 inch code pad, up to four in total. The TouchOne Mini needs its own supply, because the SDI2 bus provides 900 mA in total and the touchscreen draws most of that alone.
Q.05

Which wireless receiver should I choose?

The WE800EV2 keyfob receiver, which takes up to 21 HCT-4 keyfobs, or a B810 RADION receiver, which takes the RADION detector range and up to 64 keyfobs plus 8 RF repeaters. The two cannot be fitted together, and only one B810 is allowed per system.
Q.06

Is it NBN-ready, and can I control it from my phone?

Yes, with a B426-M Ethernet or B450-M cellular communicator, up to two of which can be fitted; the IP module's CSV-IP technology suits most monitoring centres in Australia and New Zealand. The Remote Security Control Plus app then arms, disarms and controls outputs and doors, provided the panel firmware is V2.0 or later.
Q.07

What comes in the box, and what do I still need?

The control panel PCBA, a hardware pack and a quick user guide. The ICP-SOL-ENC enclosure, TF008 plug pack, 12 VDC 6.5Ah battery, keypads, detectors and communicators are separate.
Q.08

What is the warranty and where is it sold?

The panel carries a 3 years warranty, holds RCM and AS/CA S002:2010 approval for Australia and Telepermit for New Zealand, and is sold in Australia, New Zealand and the APR region. It is rated for 0 °C – 45 °C indoors.
