Intercom Door Stations
A door station is the entrance-side device used to call and speak to someone inside. Browse Hikvision and Dahua villa, modular and multi-tenant intercom door stations. Match the station to your indoor equipment, wiring system and mounting position before choosing a model.
Intercom Door Stations buying guide
Choose a door station for your entrance
For a single home or villa, consider how visitors will call the occupant and where the station can be mounted. Shared entrances may need multiple call buttons, a directory or supported access functions. These are model-specific features; a large display alone does not confirm a station's tenant capacity.
Match the system technology
This range includes IP, two-wire and analogue models. For example, DS-KD8003-IME1(B) is listed as a PoE door station, while DS-KD8003Y-IME2 2MP belongs to a two-wire family. Dahua VTO models also span different system types. Check the full model suffix, indoor monitor family and required power or distributor equipment.
Check mounting and exposure
- Surface or flush: choose the correct housing, back box and trim for the exact station or modular layout.
- Camera position: account for the visitor's height, gate position, nearby walls and the camera's specified viewing angle.
- Outdoor installation: confirm the model's environmental rating and installation instructions; a rain shield does not replace those requirements.
- Door release: verify supported outputs and lock-controller requirements with your installer.
Build the matching system
A door station generally needs compatible answering equipment and power or networking. Choose a matching indoor monitor, then check mounts, modules and power accessories. Modular keypads and card-reader modules are accessories, rather than complete calling stations.
For a new installation where you want the main devices supplied together, compare video intercom kits. Use the intercom systems guide to compare the main wiring approaches.

Frequently asked questions
Is a door station a complete intercom system?
Usually not. It is the entrance-side device. A working installation needs compatible answering equipment, the specified power and communication connections, and any required mounting hardware.
Can I connect any PoE door station to any PoE monitor?
No. PoE describes a power delivery method, not full intercom compatibility. Verify the device family, protocols, firmware and supported functions for the exact pairing.
What is the difference between surface and flush mounting?
A surface-mount housing sits on the mounting surface. A flush-mount arrangement uses a recess and matching back box or frame. Use hardware specified for the station and module count.
Do all door stations support card access or face recognition?
No. These functions depend on the model and, for modular systems, the installed modules. Check the individual product specifications and the functions supported by the complete system.
