01Overview
What the IUI-SOL-ICON is
The Bosch IUI-SOL-ICON is an LCD Icon keypad for operating a compatible Solution 2000 or 3000 control panel. It provides a local, icon-based interface for the alarm system and is designed for a 16-zone layout.
The keypad is listed for Solution 2000 and 3000 control panels, with both systems allowing up to four keypads. The range includes LCD Icon, LCD Alphanumeric and touchscreen options, and this is the LCD Icon model.
On Solution 2000 and 3000 firmware 2.1 it gains additional status functions. It can display RF signal strength for zones, keyfobs and repeaters, while its cloud indicator stays on when the connection is online and flashes when it is offline.
Installation uses DIP-switch addressing. Only codepad 1 is enabled by default and assigned to Area 1, while another codepad must be addressed, enabled and assigned; an address change requires a power cycle or software reboot. The rear tamper spring must remain in place because removing it raises a Codepad Tamper trouble and can cause fault code 7,3.
The keypad does not include a Solution control panel, so it cannot form a working alarm system by itself. It uses icons rather than the LCD Alphanumeric or touchscreen interfaces available elsewhere in the range. The warranty is 3 years.

Package check
The Bosch IUI-SOL-ICON is the LCD icon keypad product for a 16-zone system. On opening the package, check that the keypad is present, undamaged and still has the small rear tamper spring in place. The compatible panel and installation cabling are separate system requirements.

Plan the keypad installation together with the selected panel. Mark the panel position and intended keypad location on the site plan, then record the cable type and permitted run length chosen for that system before cabling starts.
