What the DH-IPC-HDW2549EMP-S-PRO-ANZ is

This Dahua WizColor kit is a complete eight-camera system, pairing eight 5MP WizColor turret cameras with an 8-channel PoE NVR - No HDD included(add a surveillance HDD to enable recording).With every PoE port used, it is the largest layout the 8-channel recorder supports, ideal for a large home or a business that needs to cover many approaches at once on a single NVR.

Eight cameras give you the flexibility to cover the front and back, both sides, a garage, a shed, a driveway entrance and an internal area without compromise. As with the rest of the range, the cameras keep footage in full colour at night using WizColor: a large 1/1.8 inch sensor, an F1.0 lens and a warm LED light the scene to about 30 m in colour, so detail like vehicle colour and clothing stays identifiable after dark. Each camera can also run in black-and-white mode or have its warm light dimmed or scheduled where a visible light is not wanted.

SMD and IVS analytics classify people and vehicles to cut false alarms and speed up playback search, and every camera has a built-in microphone to record audio with the video. The cameras have no speaker, so they do not offer two-way talk. All eight are IP67 weatherproof, and the NVR powers and records each over a single network cable, with H.265+ compression helping your chosen drive stretch across eight 5MP streams.

Because all eight PoE ports are used, this kit has no spare channels. If you expect to add a ninth or tenth camera, choose the 16-channel kit instead, which leaves plenty of room to expand.

What's in the box

8 x DH-IPC-HDW2549EMP-S-PRO-ANZ 5MP WizColor cameras, one DHI-NVR4108HS-8P 8-channel PoE NVR (no HDD included — add a hard drive to enable recording), camera mounting bases and waterproofing glands, and a power lead for the NVR. Network (Cat5e/Cat6) cable, brackets and junction boxes are not included.

Installation requirements

Mount each camera 2.5 to 3 m high, angled down over the area you want to watch, and run one Cat5e/Cat6 cable from each camera back to a PoE port on the NVR (keep each run under 100 m). The NVR powers and connects every camera over that single cable, so no camera needs a separate power supply within 100 m. Connect the NVR to your TV or monitor by HDMI, run through the start-up wizard, set the recording schedule, and add the DMSS app for remote viewing. Seal each outdoor connector with the supplied gland, and use a Dahua junction box where a tidy, weatherproof cable join is needed.

Can the 8-channel NVR really handle eight cameras?
Yes. The DHI-NVR4108HS-8P is an 8-channel recorder with eight PoE ports, so it powers and records all eight included cameras over their own network cables. Every port is used, which means the system is full; to add more cameras later you would move up to a 16-channel recorder.

How much can I record on a 4TB drive?
No — a hard drive is not included with this kit. A hard drive is required for recording; add one to your order below. Across eight 5MP cameras with H.265+ compression, expect on the order of one to two weeks of continuous recording, and longer again on motion or smart recording. For longer retention on eight cameras, fit a larger surveillance drive.

Do the cameras record in colour at night?
Yes. All eight are WizColor cameras that use a warm LED, a large sensor and a bright F1.0 lens to keep footage in full colour to about 30 m after dark, rather than grey infrared. Any camera can be switched to a black-and-white mode if a visible light is a problem at that spot.

Are cables and brackets included?
No. Each of the eight cameras needs its own Cat5e or Cat6 cable run back to a PoE port on the NVR, bought to suit your lengths, and brackets or junction boxes are separate. Keep each run under 100 m so PoE power and signal stay reliable across all eight.

Do the cameras have two-way audio?
Each camera has a built-in microphone for recording audio with the video, but no speaker, so the cameras do not provide two-way talk. The microphones still add useful context to recorded events.

Can I add a ninth camera later?
Not to this recorder, because all eight PoE ports are used. If you think you will go beyond eight cameras, the 16-channel kit is the better starting point, since it leaves spare channels for future cameras.

Can I view all eight cameras remotely?
Yes. The NVR works with the Dahua DMSS app for live and recorded viewing of all eight cameras from anywhere with internet, plus push alerts when the AI detects a person or vehicle.
