This Dahua WizColor kit puts eight 5MP WizColor turret cameras on a 16-channel PoE NVR — no hard drive included (add one below to enable recording) — for sites that need eight cameras today but want plenty of expansion headroom. Because the recorder has sixteen PoE ports and the kit uses eight, you have eight spare channels, enough to double the number of cameras later without touching the NVR.

The cameras keep footage in full colour at night rather than switching to black-and-white infrared. WizColor combines a large 1/1.8 inch sensor, an F1.0 lens and a warm LED to light the scene to about 30 m in colour, so vehicle colours, clothing and other detail stay identifiable after dark. Each camera can also be set to a black-and-white mode or have its warm light dimmed or scheduled where a visible light is unwelcome.

SMD and IVS analytics classify people and vehicles to cut false alarms and let you filter playback by event, and a built-in microphone on every camera records audio with the video; there is no speaker, so the cameras do not offer two-way talk. All eight cameras are IP67 weatherproof, the NVR powers and records each over a single network cable, and H.265+ compression helps your chosen drive stretch across the system.

This kit suits a growing business or a larger property: it gives the same eight-camera coverage as the 8-channel kit but on a 16-channel recorder, so you are not forced into a hardware upgrade when you add the ninth camera and beyond. What's in the box

8 x DH-IPC-HDW2549EMP-S-PRO-ANZ 5MP WizColor cameras, one DHI-NVR4216-16P 16-channel PoE NVR (no HDD included — add a hard drive to enable recording), camera mounting bases and waterproofing glands, and a power lead for the NVR. Network (Cat5e/Cat6) cable, brackets and junction boxes are not included.

Installation requirements

Mount each camera 2.5 to 3 m high, angled down over the area you want to watch, and run one Cat5e/Cat6 cable from each camera back to a PoE port on the NVR (keep each run under 100 m). The NVR powers and connects every camera over that single cable, so no camera needs a separate power supply within 100 m. Connect the NVR to your TV or monitor by HDMI, run through the start-up wizard, set the recording schedule, and add the DMSS app for remote viewing. Seal each outdoor connector with the supplied gland, and use a Dahua junction box where a tidy, weatherproof cable join is needed.

Is a hard drive included, and is 4 TB enough?
No — a hard drive is not included with this kit. A hard drive is required for recording; add one to your order below. For eight 5MP cameras it gives roughly one to two weeks of continuous recording with H.265+, and longer on motion recording. If you expand toward sixteen cameras, fit a larger surveillance drive for sensible retention.

Are cables and brackets supplied?
No. Each camera needs its own Cat5e or Cat6 cable back to a PoE port on the NVR, bought to suit your run lengths, and brackets or junction boxes are separate. Keep each run under 100 m for reliable PoE power and data.

Do the cameras have two-way audio?
Each camera has a built-in microphone that records audio with the video, but no speaker, so there is no two-way talk through the cameras. The audio adds useful context to recorded events.
