§ 01Overview

What the DH-TC6K is

This Dahua Cat6 cabling kit is a complete bundle for running and terminating network and PoE camera cabling, supplied as a 305 metre roll of solid-copper Cat6 U/UTP cable with 100 pass-through RJ45 connectors and the matching AC-EZ4500 crimp tool.

Buying the cable, connectors and tool together means you have everything to wire a CCTV or network install from the box, rather than sourcing three parts separately, and the 305 metre roll is enough for the cable runs on a typical multi-camera system with plenty to spare.

The cable is solid-copper Cat6 U/UTP, which is the right choice for fixed cabling: in-wall, in-conduit and ceiling runs between a recorder or switch and each camera or data point.

It supports Gigabit Ethernet and carries Power over Ethernet, so a single run powers and connects a PoE IP camera.

The pass-through connectors are the feature that makes terminating easy: the wires are pushed all the way through the plug so you can check the colour order at the tip before crimping, and the AC-EZ4500 tool then trims the wires flush and crimps the plug in one squeeze, which gives neat, repeatable terminations even for a first-timer.

A couple of honest notes so it is used well.

Solid-copper cable is made for fixed runs that are not flexed repeatedly, so it is ideal for camera and data cabling but not intended as a flexible patch lead between equipment.

Each individual Ethernet or PoE run should be kept within about 100 metres for reliable data and power, and the 305 metre roll is designed to be cut into several runs of that length.

The pass-through connectors require a pass-through style tool like the included AC-EZ4500 so the protruding wires can be trimmed flush.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DH-TC6K

Everything to wire an install

Cable, 100 connectors and the matching crimp tool come together, so you can run and terminate a full CCTV or network job from one box.

Easy, tidy terminations

Pass-through connectors and the AC-EZ4500 tool let you check the wire order at the tip and crimp flush in one action, even on your first plug.

Right cable for fixed runs

Solid-copper Cat6 carries Gigabit data and PoE on in-wall, conduit and ceiling runs to each camera or data point.

Plenty of length

A 305 metre roll covers the runs on a typical multi-camera system with room to spare for future points.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

CCTV camera cabling

Run a single Cat6 line to each PoE IP camera for both power and video back to a switch or NVR.

Home and office networking

Wire fixed data points for computers, access points and smart devices at Gigabit speeds.

New builds and renovations

Pull solid-copper cable through walls and conduit during a fit-out for a clean, permanent install.

System expansions

Add new camera or data runs to an existing site with cable, connectors and tool on hand.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

In the box

A 305 m roll of Dahua Cat6 U/UTP solid-copper cable, 100 pass-through RJ45 connectors and the AC-EZ4500 pass-through crimp tool.

02

Plan the runs

Measure each run from the switch or NVR to the camera or data point, keeping every run within about 100 m, and allow slack at each end for termination.

03

Pull the cable

Route the cable through walls, conduit or ceiling spaces away from mains power runs to avoid interference, and label each end as you go.

04

Terminate

Arrange the wires in the chosen T568 order, push them through the pass-through plug until they show at the tip, then use the AC-EZ4500 to trim flush and crimp in one action; repeat at the other end and test the link.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DH-TC6K

Q.01

What is included in this Cat6 kit?

The kit includes a 305 metre roll of Dahua solid-copper Cat6 U/UTP cable in blue, 100 pass-through RJ45 connectors with gold-plated contacts, and the AC-EZ4500 pass-through crimp tool. Together they cover the cable, the plugs and the tool you need to run and terminate network and PoE camera cabling from the one purchase.
Q.02

Will this cable power and connect a PoE camera?

Yes. Cat6 supports Gigabit Ethernet and carries Power over Ethernet, so a single run from a PoE switch or PoE NVR both powers and connects an IP camera. Keep each run within about 100 metres for reliable data and power, which is the standard limit for Ethernet and PoE.
Q.03

What are pass-through connectors and why use them?

Pass-through RJ45 connectors let the wires run all the way through the plug and out the front. That means you can line up and check the colour order at the tip before crimping, then the AC-EZ4500 tool trims the wires flush and crimps in one action. The result is faster, neater terminations with fewer mistakes, which suits both trade and first-time installers.
Q.04

How many cable runs will 305 metres give me?

It depends on the distance from your recorder or switch to each point. As a guide, 305 metres can cover roughly six camera runs of about 50 metres, or more shorter runs, with the 100 connectors allowing for both ends of many runs plus spares for any re-terminations.
Q.05

Is this solid-copper cable or stranded patch cable?

It is solid-copper Cat6, which is the correct type for fixed cabling such as in-wall, in-conduit and ceiling runs between fixed equipment and cameras or data points. Solid copper is not intended as a flexible patch lead that is bent and moved often, so use short factory patch leads for the final link between devices on a desk or rack.
Q.06

Do I need a special tool for these connectors?

Yes, and it is included. Pass-through connectors need a pass-through style crimp tool so the wires that stick out the front can be trimmed flush during crimping. The supplied AC-EZ4500 does exactly that, cutting and crimping in a single squeeze for Cat5e and Cat6 pass-through plugs.
Q.07

Can I use this cable for normal computer networking too?

Yes. While it is a popular choice for CCTV camera runs, the same Cat6 cable, connectors and tool work for any wired network point such as computers, access points, smart TVs and printers, carrying Gigabit speeds over the same standard runs.
