What the DS-2CD2166G2H-ISU is

The Hikvision DS-2CD2166G2H-ISU is a 6 MP AcuSense fixed dome built for sites that need detailed images, low-light colour and a tough, tamper-resistant housing.

A 1/2.4" sensor with a bright F1.0 lens captures sharp 6 MP (3200 x 1800) pictures, and 120 dB Wide Dynamic Range balances strong backlight, such as a glass entrance against a shaded foyer.

Its powered-by-DarkFighter imaging is about low light, not zero light: it holds usable colour down to about 0.001 lux as dusk falls and in dimly lit areas.

In full darkness the camera switches to infrared up to 30 m, so the night image is black and white rather than colour.

AcuSense deep learning runs on the camera, classifying people and vehicles and triggering perimeter rules such as line crossing and intrusion only on those targets, which cuts the false alarms that branches, rain and animals cause.

A built-in microphone on this -U model captures sound alongside the video for added context; there is no built-in speaker, so it records audio rather than offering two-way talk.

It is an aluminium dome rated IP67 against dust and water and IK10 against impact, so it stands up to weather and tampering in entrances, car parks and public areas.

Fixed 2.8 mm or 4 mm lens options set the field of view.

A microSD slot takes a card up to 512 GB and H.265+ keeps storage down.

It runs on PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC.

What's in the box

One DS-2CD2166G2H-ISU dome camera with a mounting template, fixings and a quick guide. The PoE switch or NVR, network cable, microSD card and any wall or pendant bracket are supplied separately.

Installation requirements

Mount it on a ceiling or wall over the area to cover and aim the lens with the three-axis gimbal, then run one network cable back to a PoE (802.3af) switch or NVR, or use 12 VDC. Set the AcuSense rules in the software and record it to a Hikvision AcuSense NVR. Avoid reflective surfaces directly in front of the lens so the infrared does not bounce back at night.
