This Dahua WizColor kit is a complete four-camera system for a typical home or small shop, pairing four 5MP WizColor turret cameras with a 4-channel PoE NVR with no HDD included (add a hard drive to enable recording).It is the natural starting point in the WizColor range: enough cameras to cover a front door, driveway, back yard and side access, on a tidy single-NVR setup.

The cameras are the standout. Instead of switching to black-and-white infrared at night, each one uses Dahua's WizColor technology, a large 1/1.8 inch sensor, an F1.0 lens and a warm LED, to keep footage in full colour down to very low light, lighting the scene to about 30 m. That means you can make out the colour of a car or a jacket at night, not just a grey shape. If you would rather not have a visible light at night, each camera can be switched to a black-and-white mode or have the warm light dimmed or scheduled.

SMD and IVS analytics classify people and vehicles, so motion alerts and recording follow real activity rather than insects, rain or moving branches, and you can filter playback by person or vehicle to find an event quickly. Every camera has a built-in microphone to record audio alongside the video; there is no speaker, so the cameras do not offer two-way talk. The cameras are IP67 weatherproof for Australian outdoor use, and the NVR powers and records all four over one network cable each.

Because the NVR has four PoE ports and the kit includes four cameras, this is a complete, fully populated four-camera system. If you think you will want more cameras later, step up to the 8-channel version, which leaves spare ports to expand.

What's in the box

4 x DH-IPC-HDW2549EMP-S-PRO-ANZ 5MP WizColor cameras, one DHI-NVR4104HS-P 4-channel PoE NVR (no HDD included — add a hard drive to enable recording), camera mounting bases and waterproofing glands, and a power lead for the NVR. Network (Cat5e/Cat6) cable, brackets and junction boxes are not included.

Installation requirements

Mount each camera 2.5 to 3 m high, angled down over the area you want to watch, and run one Cat5e/Cat6 cable from each camera back to a PoE port on the NVR (keep each run under 100 m). The NVR powers and connects every camera over that single cable, so no camera needs a separate power supply within 100 m. Connect the NVR to your TV or monitor by HDMI, run through the start-up wizard, set the recording schedule, and add the DMSS app for remote viewing. Seal each outdoor connector with the supplied gland, and use a Dahua junction box where a tidy, weatherproof cable join is needed.

Is four cameras enough for a house?
For most homes four cameras cover the key approaches: the front door, the driveway or garage, the back yard and a side gate. If your block is larger or you want to watch more entry points, the 8-channel version of this kit gives you spare ports to add cameras later without changing the recorder.

Do the cameras really record in colour at night?
Yes. These are WizColor cameras, so instead of switching to black-and-white infrared they use a warm LED, a large sensor and a bright F1.0 lens to keep footage in full colour to about 30 m. That is genuinely useful at night, when the colour of a vehicle or clothing can matter. If you prefer no visible light, you can switch a camera to black-and-white mode, though it then needs some ambient light to see.

Is a hard drive included?
No — a hard drive is not included with this kit. A hard drive is required for recording; add one to your order below. With four 5MP cameras and H.265+ compression, 4 TB typically holds several weeks of continuous footage, and longer again on motion or smart recording.

Does the kit include the network cables?
No. Each camera needs one Cat5e or Cat6 cable run back to a PoE port on the NVR, and those cables are bought to suit your install since lengths vary by site. Keep each run under 100 m so PoE power and data stay reliable, and pre-made or boxed Cat6 cable both work well.

Do the cameras have two-way audio?
Each camera has a built-in microphone that records sound with the video, which adds useful context to an incident. They do not have a speaker, so there is no two-way talk through the cameras themselves.

Can I view the cameras on my phone?
Yes. The NVR connects to the Dahua DMSS app, so you can watch live and recorded video from anywhere with an internet connection, and receive push alerts when the AI detects a person or vehicle. Connect the NVR to your home network during setup.

Yes. SMD 4.0 and WizSense analytics classify human and vehicle movement, so alerts and recording follow people and cars rather than pets, blowing foliage or passing headlights. You can also draw tripwire and intrusion zones so only chosen areas trigger an alert.
