The DH-IPC-HDW3649H-AS-PV-ANZ is the deterrence pick of Dahua's 3 Series turrets — the 6MP TiOC 2.0.

Where the WizSense models record quietly, this camera reacts: cross a tripwire or intrusion zone and it flashes red and blue lights, plays a siren or voice warning through its built-in speaker, switches its warm light on and records the whole event in full colour.

Dual mics and the speaker give real two-way talk from the DMSS app.

It is also the strongest night performer in the range: the F1.0 lens rates 0.003 lux in colour — ahead of the 6MP 3666 (0.005) and the 4K 3866 (0.007) — with 30 metres of infrared for everyday nights.

The trade-offs are real, though: the 2.8mm lens covers 97°, a touch narrower than its WizSense siblings, faces identify to about 6.6 metres, and a camera that answers with lights and sound suits a property with its own clear approaches better than a tight shared street.

Installation Requirements

1. Power: any 802.3af PoE NVR port or switch (4.8W typical, 8.8W max with the lights and speaker running). A separate 12V DC adapter is only needed without PoE. 2. Network: a wired Ethernet run back to your NVR or switch — PoE carries power and video together on the same line. 3. Mounting: solid wall, ceiling or eave at 2.5–3 metres. The optional PFA137 junction box keeps the connection weatherproof and makes future swaps a 2-minute job.

1. Download the DMSS app, create an account and scan the device QR code. 2. Enable push notifications, and keep the one-tap disarm switch handy for expected visitors. 3. Draw tripwire and intrusion zones tight to your own property through the camera's web interface — the warning voice, light behaviour and schedules live there too.

Count your cameras and leave room to grow: up to 4 suit a 4CH NVR, up to 8 an 8CH. Each 6MP camera writes roughly 40GB a day recording continuously, so a 4TB drive holds about 3 weeks from four cameras — and two months or more on motion-only recording.

Will it work with a non-Dahua NVR?
Yes — it is ONVIF conformant (Profile S, G and T) and works with Milestone. You keep video and basic motion events; SMD classification, Quick Pick and the light-and-siren event linkage need a Dahua AI NVR.

Yes. A single 802.3af PoE line powers everything — 4.8W in normal operation and 8.8W flat out with the warning light, warm light and speaker all running. A separate 12V DC supply is only needed where no PoE port is available.

You can — it takes a MicroSD card up to 256GB (not included), streams to the DMSS app, and the deterrence features work stand-alone. Most buyers still pair it with an NVR for longer retention, all cameras in one timeline and AI search; treat the SD slot as backup.

Is a Dahua camera safe to use in Australia?
Dahua equipment was removed from federal government sites in 2023 as a precaution, and there is no restriction on private or business use. This camera does not need a cloud account: it records to your NVR, works fully offline, and supports HTTPS, 802.1x and firmware encryption. If you want zero outbound traffic, put the system on an isolated network — it still records locally.
