Installation & setup

Position deterrence where it counts

Mount the two TiOC cameras at the highest-risk entries within strobe, siren and audio range, and use the Starlight cameras for wider general coverage.

Run single PoE cables

Run one Cat6 cable from each camera to the NVR's built-in PoE ports for power and data, keeping each run within roughly 100m.

Set deterrence rules carefully

On the TiOC cameras, set which detected events trigger the strobe, siren and voice so deterrence fires on real targets rather than every motion.

Set up recording and the app

Confirm all four cameras appear on the recorder, set schedules, then add the NVR to the DMSS app for remote viewing and alerts.

Do you need a sparkie?

Usually not. PoE means one data cable per camera — including the lights and siren — and you are not touching 240 V. Get a licensed electrician if the runs go through walls or into the roof space, or you need a new powerpoint for the recorder.

What is the difference between the two camera types in this kit?
The two TiOC HDW3649H-AS-PV cameras are active-deterrence models with full-colour night vision, a red-and-blue strobe, a built-in siren and two-way audio, so they can warn off an intruder at a key entry. The two HDW3667EM-S-IL cameras are Starlight turret cameras for clear low-light detail across the other areas. Use the TiOC cameras at the highest-risk points and the Starlight cameras for general coverage.

How does the active deterrence work?
On a detected person or vehicle at a defined zone, the TiOC cameras can trigger a red-and-blue strobe and a built-in siren, and you can talk through them with two-way audio. This warns an intruder to leave in real time rather than only recording the event. You choose which events trigger the deterrence so it does not activate on every motion.

Is a hard drive included?
No — a hard drive is not included with this kit. A hard drive is required for recording; add one to your order below. You can fit a larger surveillance drive later if you want longer recording retention across the four cameras.

Which cameras support two-way audio?
The two TiOC HDW3649H-AS-PV cameras have a built-in microphone and speaker, so they support two-way talk for live challenge and response. The two HDW3667EM-S-IL cameras have a built-in microphone only, so they record on-site audio but cannot talk back. Confirm audio recording is permitted and disclosed for your site.

Do all the cameras detect people and vehicles?
Yes. All four 6MP cameras use SMD 4.0 to classify movement as a person or vehicle, so alerts focus on real targets and filter out animals, foliage and weather. On the TiOC cameras this also drives the active-deterrence response so the strobe and siren trigger on genuine threats.

Can I add more cameras and view remotely?
Yes. The 8-channel NVR records the four included cameras with four channels free, so you can add up to four more compatible Dahua IP cameras. Add the recorder to the free DMSS app for live view, playback and push notifications on your phone.

Do the TiOC cameras give colour images at night?
The TiOC cameras use smart dual illumination, keeping a full-colour image on a detected target after dark using warm light, then returning to infrared to limit light spill the rest of the time. The HDW3667EM-S-IL cameras use Starlight and infrared, recording in monochrome under infrared in full darkness.

Does it support AcuPick smart search?
These -ANZ TiOC cameras provide Quick Pick smart search through a compatible recorder. AcuPick is reserved for the -PRO TiOC cameras paired with a higher-tier NVR, so this kit is specified with Quick Pick rather than AcuPick to set the right expectation.

How long will a 4TB drive record for?
About three weeks of continuous 24/7 footage from the four 6MP cameras, and several times longer on motion-only recording. The NVR overwrites the oldest footage automatically; fit a larger drive for more history.

You have 30 days from the day you receive your order to request a change-of-mind return. Items must be unopened, factory-sealed and in resalable condition.
