Installation Requirements

1. Power & data: one Ethernet run to a PoE NVR or switch (802.3af, Class 3), or a 12 V DC supply plus a separate network cable. 2. Recorder: a Hikvision NVR for full features; an AcuSense-capable NVR on current firmware to log and search human / vehicle events. 3. Storage: optional microSD up to 512 GB on the camera, or record to the NVR / NAS. 4. Mounting: solid wall, eave or ceiling; the turret tilts on its base to aim. No IK vandal rating, so mount out of easy reach in exposed spots.

Is this a PoE camera, or does it need a separate power supply?
It is a network (IP) camera that runs on PoE (802.3af, Class 3) over a single Ethernet cable, or on a 12 V DC supply if you prefer. Most installs use a PoE NVR or switch so one cable carries power and video.

Does it record sound?
Yes. It has a built-in microphone (the -U in the model name) that records audio alongside video. Audio-recording laws vary by Australian state, so check your local rules before enabling it.

Can it see in colour at night?
No. Night vision is infrared Smart IR to about 30 m, so footage after dark is black and white. For full-colour night images you would need a ColorVu model with white-light LEDs.

What does AcuSense actually do?
AcuSense uses on-camera deep learning to tell people and vehicles apart from animals, rain and moving foliage, so alerts and recordings focus on what matters and you get far fewer false alarms.

How far away can it identify a person?
With the 2.8 mm lens the DORI figures are roughly 89 m detect, 35 m observe, 17 m recognise and 8 m identify, so it suits entries, driveways and yards rather than long-distance number-plate capture.

How much footage can it store on a memory card?
It takes a microSD card up to 512 GB for on-camera recording, and can also record to a NAS with ANR, which back-fills clips missed during a network dropout.
Q.07

Will it work with my existing NVR?
It is ONVIF compliant and works with Hikvision NVRs and Hik-Connect. To log and search human and vehicle events you need an AcuSense-capable NVR on current firmware; on older recorders it still records as a standard 8 MP camera.

Is it OK to mount near the coast?
It is IP67 dust- and water-resistant and rated -30C to 60C, but Hikvision lists no specific anti-corrosion protection for this model, so keep it out of direct coastal salt spray to avoid premature corrosion.
