Each camera records 8MP 4K detail on a 1/1.8-inch sensor, with AcuSense deep-learning classification that focuses motion alerts on people and vehicles instead of every passing shadow or insect.

Powered-by-DarkFighter low-light technology and 120 dB true WDR keep the image clear in glare and after dark, EXIR infrared reaches up to 30 m at night, and a built-in microphone captures audio alongside the video.

The IP67-rated turret housing is built for outdoor use in Australian conditions.

What's in the kit

Eight DS-2CD2386G2-IU 8MP turret cameras, one DS-7616NI-M2/16P 16-channel PoE NVR with a 4TB HDD installed, plus the NVR power supply and mouse. Network cable and a monitor are not included.

Installation requirements

Run Cat5e or Cat6 cable from the NVR's PoE ports to each camera (keep runs within about 100 m). Mount the turrets where you need coverage, connect the NVR to a monitor via HDMI and to your router for remote access, then add it to the Hik-Connect app. Cable joins at outdoor cameras are best housed in a matching Hikvision junction box. Professional installation is recommended for cabling and mounting.

Does this kit include a hard drive?
Yes. A 4TB surveillance-grade hard drive comes installed in the DS-7616NI-M2/16P NVR, so the system is ready to record out of the box. Surveillance-grade drives are built for continuous 24/7 writing, unlike a standard desktop drive.

How many cameras can the NVR take?
The recorder is a 16-channel NVR with 16 built-in PoE ports, and the kit uses eight of them. That leaves room to add up to eight more compatible Hikvision IP cameras later without changing the recorder or adding a switch.

Do the cameras need separate power supplies?
No. Each camera is powered and connected over a single network cable through the NVR's plug-and-play PoE ports, so there are no separate plug packs to run. You just run one Cat5e or Cat6 cable from the NVR to each camera.

Can I view the cameras on my phone?
Yes. Connect the NVR to your router and add it to the free Hik-Connect app, and you can watch live video and play back recordings from your phone or tablet whether you are home or away.

What does AcuSense do?
AcuSense uses deep-learning analytics in the camera to tell people and vehicles apart from other movement, so you can set motion alerts and recording to focus on what matters and ignore things like wind-blown trees or shadows. This cuts down on nuisance notifications.

How well do the cameras see at night?
Each camera has powered-by-DarkFighter low-light technology for clearer images in dim conditions, plus EXIR infrared that reaches up to 30 m in complete darkness. As with any infrared night vision, the image at night is in black and white.
Q.07

Do these cameras support two-way talk?
No. The DS-2CD2386G2-IU has a built-in microphone that records audio with the video, but it has no speaker, so it does not provide two-way audio or a spoken warning. If you need active deterrence with audio, ask us about Hikvision's strobe and siren turret models.

How long will the 4TB drive record for?
Recording time depends on how many cameras run, the resolution and frame rate, and whether you record continuously or on motion. With H.265+ compression and AcuSense motion recording, 4TB typically holds several weeks of footage from eight cameras; continuous 4K recording on all channels will be shorter, and you can fit a second drive to extend it.
