§ 01Overview

What the DH-IPC-HDW3649H-AS-PV-PRO is

The Dahua IPC-HDW3649H-AS-PV-PRO is a 6MP TiOC PRO turret that brings together three jobs in one unit: clear full-colour imaging at night, AI that tells people and vehicles from everything else, and active deterrence that warns intruders off before they get close. It is built on a large 1/1.8" sensor with an F1.0 lens, so it gathers far more light than a typical camera and keeps usable colour in dim conditions.

Smart dual illuminators are the clever part. When the scene is quiet the camera uses discreet infrared, but the moment its AI detects a person or vehicle it switches to warm white light for full-colour footage out to about 30 metres - so you are not flooding the neighbours with white light all night, only when something matters. On a confirmed event it can also flash its red and blue strobes and sound the built-in siren, and you can speak through the two-way audio or play a pre-recorded warning.

SMD and perimeter protection (tripwire, intrusion) classify humans and vehicles to cut false alarms. Paired with a Dahua AI NVR, AcuPick lets you tap a target and search every channel for matching appearances; on a standard 4-Series NVR you still get SMD smart search and Quick Pick. The IP67 metal turret runs on PoE or 12V DC over a single Cat5e/6 cable and suits homes, shops and commercial entries. Like any TiOC it reacts out loud — draw zones to your own boundary, and on a tight shared street consider whether a quieter WizSense model is the better neighbour.

What the DH-IPC-HDW3649H-AS-PV-PRO features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

6MP Ultra HD

6MP captures around three times the detail of 1080p. Plenty of resolution to zoom into a face or number plate part-way down the driveway and still read it clearly.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

Dual-Light Night Vision

Combines infrared with a warm spotlight so it can light a scene in colour at night rather than relying on black-and-white alone — clearer, more useful footage when there's something to see.

Full Color Night Vision

Unlike plain black-and-white night vision, this camera can capture colour after dark — so you can pick out the actual colour of a car, a jacket or a bag, detail that grey infrared footage loses.

False Alarm Reduction

Filtering helps separate real activity from harmless movement like rain, leaves or pets, so you get fewer pointless notifications and the alerts that matter stand out.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

Two-Way Audio

Talk and listen in real time through the app — tell a courier where to leave a parcel, or speak to someone at the gate, whether you're home or away.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DH-IPC-HDW3649H-AS-PV-PRO

Warns intruders off

Red and blue strobes, a built-in siren and spoken warnings act the moment AI sees a person, rather than just recording the event.

Colour at night, only when needed

Smart dual illuminators give full-colour footage to 30m on detection and fall back to IR when idle, so there is no constant white light.

Targets real threats

SMD and perimeter AI classify people and vehicles, cutting alerts from animals, rain and foliage to a handful of genuine events.

Fast review with AcuPick

On a Dahua AI NVR, AcuPick finds a chosen person or vehicle across every channel in seconds instead of scrubbing footage.

The strongest night sensor in the family

The 1/1.8" F1.0 sensor rates 0.0005 lux in colour — over twice the light of the standard 3649 — so colour holds later into the evening before any illuminator fires.

Loud on purpose — make sure that suits the spot

Strobes and siren voices confront whoever triggers them. Draw zones to your own boundary and schedule sound overnight — or for tight terrace streets and strata, the quieter 3667 WizSense turret family records the same AI events without the noise.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Porch and front approach

Faces identify to about 7 metres — doorway distance — and the warm light captures them in colour, not grey infrared. Two-way talk lets you direct a courier or challenge a stranger from your phone.

Driveway and carport

Someone lingering around the car at 2am gets strobes and a voice warning before a door handle is touched, with the big 1/1.8" sensor holding colour in barely-lit streets.

Gates, yards and rear lanes

A tripwire on the boundary triggers the camera the moment it's crossed — and the wide 109-degree view covers the whole approach from one mount.

Shops and commercial entries

Active deterrence after hours, colour faces at the door, and AcuPick on an NVR5-series recorder to pull every appearance of one person from a day of footage in seconds.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

1 x IPC-HDW3649H-AS-PV-PRO camera, mounting hardware and quick-start guide. The 2.8 mm lens is standard.

02

Mount for deterrence

Fix the turret 2.5-3m high covering the approach so the strobe, siren and audio reach an intruder before they reach the building.

03

Single-cable power

Run one Cat5e/6 cable from a PoE switch or NVR port, up to 100 m — 6 W typical, 10 W with the siren, lights and warm light all firing. A 12 V DC supply works where PoE is not available.

04

Avoid night reflections

Don't aim it along a close wall or at glass — the IR and warm light can bounce back and wash out the image. Angle slightly away from reflective surfaces.

05

Add AI search

Record on a Dahua AI NVR such as the NVR5208-8P or NVR5216-16P to use AcuPick target search across channels.

06

Do you need a sparkie?

Usually not for PoE — one data cable carries power, video and every deterrence feature, and you are not touching 240 V. Get a licensed electrician if the run goes through walls or roof space.

07

Set rules and warnings

Set tripwire/intrusion zones tight to your own property, link the strobe and siren to person/vehicle events, and record a spoken warning in DMSS.

§ 08Questions

Frequently asked about the DH-IPC-HDW3649H-AS-PV-PRO

Q.01

What does TiOC mean?

TiOC stands for Three-in-One Camera. It combines full-colour night vision, AI perimeter detection and active deterrence (strobe, siren and audio) in a single unit instead of separate devices.
Q.02

How does the active deterrence work?

When the AI confirms a person or vehicle in a defined zone, the camera flashes its red and blue strobes, sounds the built-in siren and can play a pre-recorded warning, all automatically.
Q.03

Does it show colour at night?

Yes, to about 30 metres. Smart dual illuminators use warm white light for full colour when motion is detected and fall back to discreet infrared when the scene is quiet, which limits light pollution.
Q.04

Do I need a special NVR for AcuPick?

AcuPick target search needs a Dahua AI NVR, typically a 5-Series model. On a standard 4-Series NVR you still get SMD smart search and Quick Pick, just not the full AcuPick cross-channel search.
Q.05

Can I talk through the camera?

Yes. It has a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio through the DMSS app, so you can listen and speak live or trigger an automatic spoken warning.
Q.06

Will it stop false alarms from animals?

Yes. SMD and perimeter protection only treat people and vehicles as targets, so possums, birds and moving foliage do not trigger the deterrence or fill your alerts.
Q.07

Is the night image good enough to identify someone?

The large 1/1.8" F1.0 sensor gives strong low-light colour for general identification near the camera. Place it at the perimeter for deterrence and pair it with a detail camera where you need plates.
Q.08

How is it powered and cabled?

It runs on a single Cat5e/6 cable using standard PoE, or a 12V DC supply, and is IP67-rated for outdoor mounting.
Q.09

What's the difference between the PRO and the standard ANZ model?

Both share the same TiOC deterrence — strobes, siren, two-way talk. The PRO upgrades the imaging: a larger 1/1.8" sensor rated 0.0005 lux against the standard 3649's 1/2.7" at 0.003, a wider 109-degree view versus 97, identification at 7.0 m versus 6.6, dual mics, a 512 GB microSD ceiling versus 256, and AcuPick attribute search with an NVR5-series recorder. If deterrence at a normal doorway is the whole job, the standard model saves money; where night detail or future AcuPick search matters, the PRO earns its price.
Q.10

Can it record without an NVR at all?

Yes, to a microSD card up to 512 GB — use a high-endurance surveillance card, as a normal phone card will die inside a year of 24/7 writing. Edge recording also keeps working as a fallback if the NVR or network goes down.
Q.11

Three 3649 turrets look almost the same — what's the difference?

They share the TiOC toolkit — strobes, siren, two-way talk, SMD 4.0. This PRO is the imaging pick: a larger 1/1.8" sensor, a 109-degree view, dual mics and AcuPick-readiness. The standard ANZ keeps the same deterrence on a smaller sensor for less, and the ZAS swaps the fixed lens for a motorised 2.7-13.5 mm zoom that stretches identification out to nearly 19 m for gates and long driveways. If you're unsure, send us a photo of the spot and we'll call it.
