What is the difference between Dahua WizSense, TiOC and Smart Dual Light?
WizSense is Dahua's on-camera AI (SMD 4.0 / AcuPick): it filters alerts to people and vehicles so you are not woken by a cat or a branch. Smart Dual Light cameras carry both infrared and warm white LEDs and switch to full-colour only when a person or vehicle is detected — colour evidence without a light on all night. TiOC (Three-in-One Camera) adds active deterrence on top: a red-and-blue strobe, a siren and two-way talk that trigger automatically or from the DMSS app. Choose WizSense kits for quiet, reliable recording, TiOC kits when you want the camera to scare intruders off.
Which Dahua kit size is right for my home?
A 4-camera kit covers the front door, driveway, back door and side access of a typical 3-bedroom home. Go to 6 cameras for a detached garage, pool or large backyard, and 8 cameras for full perimeter coverage, dual-occupancy or a small business. Our mixed kits (2 × TiOC on the approaches + 2 × turret elsewhere) are the most popular compromise between deterrence and budget. Use the chooser above to filter by camera count.
Should I choose 6MP or 8MP (4K) Dahua cameras?
6MP (HDW3667 / HDW3666 series) is the residential sweet spot — sharp faces at 5-15 m with sensible storage. Choose 8MP 4K (HDW3867 / HDW3849 TiOC) for the driveway or street-facing camera when you need number plates or faces at distance. You can mix resolutions in one kit; the NVRs we bundle handle both.
Do I need to run power to Dahua cameras?
No. Every Dahua kit we sell is PoE: one Cat6 cable per camera carries power and video back to the NVR, which has the PoE switch built in. Most homeowners self-install in an afternoon; if you would rather not run cables in walls, we can point you to an installer in your area.
Is your Dahua stock genuine Australian (ANZ) stock?
Yes. All Dahua cameras and recorders we sell are genuine ANZ-specification stock (you will see ANZ in the model number, e.g. HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ), with Australian power supplies, local firmware and a 3-year Australian warranty. Grey imports can lose DMSS app features and have no local warranty.
Is Dahua banned in Australia?
No. Dahua is fully legal to buy, install and use for Australian homes and businesses. In 2023 the federal government removed some Dahua devices from government buildings as a precaution — that decision never applied to private homes or commercial premises. Our kits also record to a local NVR in your home (footage stays on your own hard drive, not in the cloud) and can run fully offline, and every unit is genuine ANZ-specification stock with local firmware and a 3-year Australian warranty.
Dahua or Hikvision — which is better for an Australian home?
Both are top-tier. Dahua generally wins on value and on built-in deterrence (TiOC siren + strobe at a lower price than the Hikvision equivalent), and its Smart Dual Light night vision is very close to Hikvision ColorVu. Hikvision edges ahead on low-light image quality at the premium end and on the breadth of 4K and PTZ options. If you want the camera to actively scare people off, pick Dahua TiOC; if you want the sharpest 4K night image, compare with
Hikvision ColorVu 3.0.
What warranty and returns do Dahua kits come with?
Cameras and recorders carry a 3-year Australian warranty. In-stock items ship from Australian stock with tracking; metro delivery usually takes 2–4 business days. Regional areas may take longer. Unopened items can be returned within 30 days (15% restocking fee on change of mind). Need help choosing?
