§ 01Overview

What the DH-IPC-HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ is

All ten cameras are the DH-IPC-HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ: 8MP — true 4K, about a third more pixels than a 6MP system, so faces and number plates stay readable when you zoom into playback. They only flag people and cars, not possums or branches in the wind — infrared until someone actually turns up, then a warm light flicks on for colour of the moment that matters.

The DHI-NVR4216-16P-AI/ANZ recorder does the rest. It powers every camera down its network cable, records the lot, takes up to two hard drives for longer retention, and Quick Pick jumps you straight to the people-and-vehicle events in playback. Live view and alerts ride the free DMSS app, from anywhere.

The cameras record audio but have no speaker, so there's no two-way talk on this kit. If you want siren-and-strobe deterrence at a gate, mix in the TiOC option under Recommended packages below.

Ten cameras covers a larger site properly — a house on acreage with its sheds and gates, or a business with shopfront, counter, stockroom, car park and rear access. Six ports stay spare for growth, and the two drive bays matter at this scale: ten 4K streams need real storage.

See it in action

What the DH-IPC-HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

8MP Ultra HD

8MP (4K) resolution captures four times the detail of 1080p.
Even when a person or car is far down the driveway, you can zoom in and still recognise a face or read a number plate — detail that lower-resolution cameras lose.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

Dual-Light Night Vision

Combines infrared with a warm spotlight so it can light a scene in colour at night rather than relying on black-and-white alone — clearer, more useful footage when there's something to see.

Full Color Night Vision

Unlike plain black-and-white night vision, this camera can capture colour after dark — so you can pick out the actual colour of a car, a jacket or a bag, detail that grey infrared footage loses.

False Alarm Reduction

Filtering helps separate real activity from harmless movement like rain, leaves or pets, so you get fewer pointless notifications and the alerts that matter stand out.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

Illustrative — simulated for demonstration

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DH-IPC-HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ

Faces and plates you can actually read

At 3840 × 2160 — true 4K — playback holds up when you zoom in. Clothing, faces and number plates stay readable instead of dissolving into blocks, which is what makes footage worth handing to police.

Discreet IR until something happens

The cameras sit on infrared all night. When a person or car is confirmed, the warm light fires and you get colour of the event — no floodlight burning till dawn, nothing lighting up a neighbour's window.

Alerts about people and cars, not possums

SMD 4.0 deep learning filters animals, foliage and passing headlights before your phone goes off. You get the handful of events that matter, not a feed of noise.

One box, everything on your phone

All ten cameras record to the one recorder; live view, playback and push alerts ride the free DMSS app from anywhere — no static IP, no port forwarding.

Quick Pick pulls the people-and-vehicle events out of recorded footage, so you're not scrubbing through a night of nothing to find thirty seconds.

Two drive bays for ten cameras

4K streams eat storage. The recorder takes two surveillance drives — up to 16 TB each — so retention can grow with the site instead of capping it.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

A house on acreage

Entries, sheds, gates and the long driveway — ten 4K cameras closes the gaps distance opens up. Mount at 2.5-3 m so the warm light still shows faces in colour.

Supermarket or retail floor

Tills, aisles and stockroom with faces and clothing readable on zoomed playback, plus audio at the counter.

Childcare, clinic or office

Entries and shared areas covered day and night, with SMD 4.0 keeping after-hours alerts meaningful.

Warehouse and yard

Wide 110-degree coverage of racking runs, loading zones and open hardstand.

Car park and rear access

4K keeps number plates readable at every boundary crossing, day or night.

Growing past ten

Six ports stay spare — add cameras one cable at a time, no recorder swap.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What you'll need on the day

10 network cable runs — one from each camera back to the recorder, Cat5e or Cat6, up to 100 m each. Not included. Measure the real path including going up and along the roof space; it's usually double what it looks like from the ground.

02

Drives and monitor

At least one hard drive in the recorder — it has two bays, so a second drive can go in later — and a TV or monitor with HDMI for first-time setup.

03

Where the recorder goes

A spot near your router, with a network cable between them for phone access. It's a larger rack-or-desktop unit than the compact 8-channel models, so allow shelf space and airflow.

04

Do you need a sparkie?

Usually not. PoE means one data cable per camera and you are not touching 240 V. Get a licensed electrician if the runs go through walls or into the roof space, or you need a new powerpoint for the recorder.

05

What's in the box

10 x DH-IPC-HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ 8 MP Smart Dual Light turret cameras, 1 x DHI-NVR4216-16P-AI/ANZ 16-channel WizSense PoE NVR. No hard drive — add one below. Choose 2.8 mm or 3.6 mm lenses and white or black housings in your order note.

06

First power-up

Fit the hard drive, connect the NVR to a TV or monitor over HDMI and follow the on-screen wizard, then scan the QR code to link the DMSS app on your phone.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DH-IPC-HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ

Q.01

Do the cameras record in colour at night?

Yes, through Smart Dual Light. The cameras sit on discreet infrared (to 30 m) until a person or vehicle is confirmed, then switch on a warm-white light (also to 30 m) for full-colour footage of the event — clothing and vehicle colour instead of a grey infrared image. Each camera's illuminator can be set to infrared-only, automatic or event-triggered in the settings or the DMSS app, so the white light never has to burn all night.
Q.02

What lens and colour do I get?

Each camera comes with a 2.8 mm or 3.6 mm lens, in a white or black housing — note your preference in the order comment and the cameras are supplied to suit. The 2.8 mm is the default and right for most spots: a wide 110-degree view for porches, driveways and yards. The 3.6 mm sees a narrower 86 degrees but reaches further — identification at about 10 m versus 8.5 m — which suits long driveways, corridors and fence lines.
Q.03

Does this kit support AcuPick search?

Not out of the box. The cameras are AcuPick-capable, but AcuPick itself needs a Dahua NVR5-series (or higher) AI recorder — this kit's NVR4-series WizSense recorder provides Quick Pick instead, which still jumps straight to human and vehicle events. Because the cameras are AcuPick-ready, upgrading the recorder later unlocks it without changing a single camera; ask us about pairing.
Q.04

Do the cameras have audio?

Yes. Each camera has a built-in microphone that records mono audio alongside the video — useful for glass, voices and engines in playback. There is no speaker, so there is no two-way talk on this turret model; for siren and talk-back at a gate, see the TiOC option under Recommended packages below. If you're recording audio at a business site, check your state's audio-recording and disclosure rules.
Q.05

How are the cameras powered?

Over a single network cable. Run one Cat5e or Cat6 cable from each camera back to the NVR's built-in PoE ports, which supply both power and video. No separate power supply is needed at each camera.
Q.06

Is a hard drive included?

No — a hard drive is not included with this kit, and one is required for recording; add one to your order below. This recorder has two drive bays, each taking up to a 16 TB surveillance drive, so you can start with one drive and add a second later.
Q.07

How long does a 4TB drive record for?

Under a week of continuous 24/7 footage from this kit's ten 8MP cameras — start at 10TB (just under two weeks) and pair a second drive for close to a month. Recording on motion events only stretches any drive several times further, and surveillance-rated drives are built for the continuous writing.
Q.08

Will it stop false alarms from animals?

Yes. SMD 4.0 deep learning classifies people and vehicles and ignores animals, rain, moving foliage and passing headlights, so your alerts focus on genuine activity. You can also limit motion detection to up to four zones per camera to skip a busy footpath or road.
Q.09

Can I view it on my phone?

Yes. Connect the NVR to your router and the free Dahua DMSS app (iOS and Android) gives live view, playback and push alerts from anywhere — no static IP or port forwarding to set up.
Q.10

Will the cameras work with a non-Dahua NVR later?

They support ONVIF (Profile S, G, T and M), so a third-party ONVIF recorder can pull the video stream. The smart features such as SMD 4.0, Quick Pick and perimeter protection work fully only with a Dahua WizSense NVR like the one in this kit.
Q.11

How many cameras can I add later?

The 16-channel NVR records the ten included cameras and leaves six channels free, so you can add up to six more, each from a spare built-in PoE port. As you approach a full sixteen cameras, check the recorder's total PoE budget (130 W, with each camera drawing up to 9.5 W) — or power the extras from a separate PoE switch.
Q.12

How many cameras do I actually need?

Ten suits a house on acreage with sheds and gates to cover, or a business site — shopfront, counter, stockroom, car park and rear access. For a standard house, the four- or six-camera kits usually do it. Send us a site plan or a few photos and we'll tell you what we'd put where.
Q.13

Do all the cameras have to be near the recorder?

No. Each camera runs its own cable back to the recorder, up to 100 m per run; past that you'd add a PoE switch partway or look at a wireless bridge — tell us the distance and we'll work it out with you. The recorder itself just needs power, your router, and somewhere out of the weather.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

01

Match the camera count to your property

This is the 10-camera system — the largest in this range. The same 4K kit comes in 4, 6, 8 and 10-camera sizes - so you can match cover to your block.

02

Storage

A surveillance-rated hard drive is required for recording. Ten 8MP cameras recording 24/7 fill 10TB in just under two weeks — use the recorder's second bay (up to 16 TB per drive) to pair drives for close to a month. Pick the retention you need: 2TB, 4TB, 6TB, 8TB or 10TB.

03

Pre-made network leads

One lead per camera, no crimping — add pre-made leads in the lengths you need in the Customize this kit section above.

05

Active deterrence at key points

Mix in a TiOC turret (HDW3849H-AS-PV-PRO) at a gate or main entry where you want strobe, siren and two-way talk on top of recording.
