§ 01Overview

What the DS-2CD2366G2H-IS2U/SL is

Lens: 2.8mm.

The DS-2CD2366G2H-IS2U/SL is the deterrence flagship of the 2366 range — the response package of the G2 SL bolted onto the newer G2H imaging platform.

Cross a line or zone and it fires its white strobe and an audible warning through a speaker lab-rated at 105dB (at 10cm); dual microphones and that speaker give two-way talk from the Hik-Connect app, and alarm plus audio line in/out terminals handle integration work.

The imaging is the real step up: an F1.0 lens rated 0.001 lux in colour — gathering over twice the light of the G2's F1.6 — behind the widest view in the range at 115°, with 30 metres of smart infrared, 120dB WDR, defog, and a 512GB MicroSD ceiling.

The honest catch is power: full output draws up to 18W, which needs an 802.3at (PoE+) port — standard 802.3af budgets fall short.

Check your NVR or switch port rating before ordering; on a standard port, the G2-ISU/SL delivers the same strobe-and-warning response at 9.7W.

White strobe and spoken or siren warnings, as across the range — the red-and-blue variant isn't one we stock.

See it in action

What the DS-2CD2366G2H-IS2U/SL features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

6MP Ultra HD

6MP captures around three times the detail of 1080p. Plenty of resolution to zoom into a face or number plate part-way down the driveway and still read it clearly.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

Smart Hybrid Light

Combines infrared with a warm spotlight so it can light a scene in colour at night rather than relying on black-and-white alone — clearer, more useful footage when there's something to see.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

Two-Way Audio

Talk and listen in real time through the app — tell a courier where to leave a parcel, or speak to someone at the gate, whether you're home or away.

False Alarm Reduction

Filtering helps separate real activity from harmless movement like rain, leaves or pets, so you get fewer pointless notifications and the alerts that matter stand out.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DS-2CD2366G2H-IS2U/SL

The strongest response in the range

Strobe, audible warnings, two-way talk and the loudest speaker of the 2366 family — backed by AcuSense so only humans and vehicles trigger it.

Night colour the G2 can't match

0.001 lux at F1.0 holds colour off ambient glow where the G2 generation switches to infrared — and colour detail is what identifies clothing and vehicles.

Widest eyes in the family

115° from the 2.8mm lens takes in more driveway per mount than any other 2366, with dual mics catching audio from both directions.

Check your PoE budget first

Honest requirement: up to 18W means an 802.3at (PoE+) port. On a standard 802.3af port, the G2-ISU/SL gives the same deterrence at 9.7W — pay for the G2H where the port and the darkness justify it.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Dark driveways and approaches

Where there's no street light to help, 0.001 lux keeps colour and the strobe answers whoever AcuSense flags — the spot this camera exists for.

Porch and parcel theft

A spoken warning at the letterbox beats reviewing footage of a parcel leaving — dual mics and two-way talk handle the courier conversation live.

Site compounds and yards

Alarm in/out and audio line terminals tie it into gates and external sirens, with the on-camera warning doing the first shouting.

Wide frontages

115° covers a double garage, the path beside it and part of the lawn from a single corner mount — fewer cameras for the same coverage.

Installation & setup

01

What's in the Box

1. Hikvision DS-2CD2366G2H-IS2U/SL Camera × 1 2. Drill Template and Screw Kit × 1 3. Quick Start Guide × 1

02

Installation Requirements

1. Power: any 802.3at PoE+ NVR port or switch (max 18W). A separate 12V DC adapter is only needed without PoE. 2. Network: a wired Ethernet run back to your NVR or switch — PoE carries power and video together on the same line. 3. Mounting: solid wall, ceiling or eave at 2.5–3 metres, with the base sealed against the surface — the housing is IP67-rated for exposed positions.

03

App Setup

1. Activate the camera with a strong password on first connection, then add it to the Hik-Connect app via QR code. 2. Enable push notifications so AcuSense human and vehicle alerts reach your phone. 2b. Pick the warning tone or record your own message, and set strobe and audio schedules so deterrence sleeps when you do. 3. Draw line crossing and intrusion zones tight to your own property through the camera's web interface, and set the target type to human and vehicle.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DS-2CD2366G2H-IS2U/SL

Q.01

How do the strobe and warning actually work?

When a person or vehicle crosses a line or zone you've drawn, the camera fires its white strobe and plays an audible warning — a siren tone or a spoken message — through the built-in speaker. AcuSense classification decides what triggers it, so headlights and animals don't set it off.
Q.02

Do I really need PoE+ for this camera?

For full output, yes: up to 18W (802.3at Class 4) exceeds standard 802.3af budgets. Options are a PoE+ NVR port or switch, or a 12V DC supply. It's the strobe, speaker and IR together that push the peak — but a camera that browns out mid-warning defeats the purpose, so budget the port properly.
Q.03

Is the 105dB speaker claim real?

It's Hikvision's laboratory rating measured at 10 centimetres from the speaker — at property distances it's loud and attention-getting rather than painful. It is the strongest speaker in the 2366 range; treat the number as a bench figure, not what the street hears.
Q.04

Can I turn the strobe and warnings off when I don't want them?

Yes — both run on schedules through the camera's web interface, so the strobe can sleep overnight or only arm after close. Alerts to your phone keep working either way, and the alarm output can drive external devices on the same logic.
Q.05

Does it have red and blue flashing lights?

No — the strobe on this model is white, paired with spoken or siren warnings. Hikvision reserves red-and-blue lights for the /SRB variant, which we don't currently stock; if police-style strobes are the goal, the closest match in our range is the Dahua TiOC family.
Q.06

How far can it see at night?

It records colour down to 0.001 lux through its F1.0 lens, switching to infrared with a 30-metre range in full darkness. Smart supplement light adjusts the IR intensity automatically so close objects don't white out.
Q.07

Why does the G2H list a shorter identify distance than the older G2?

Hikvision tightened its DORI testing between generations — the G2H's 6-metre identify figure is measured more conservatively than the G2's 7.9 metres, so the numbers can't be compared directly. Optically the G2H is the stronger camera: its F1.0 lens gathers over twice the light of the G2's F1.6, and the view is about 10° wider.
Q.08

What does AcuSense actually do?

The camera classifies what triggered an event — human, vehicle, or neither — using deep learning on the camera itself, so a possum, rain or moving branches don't page your phone at 2am. It backs that with perimeter protection: line crossing, intrusion and region entrance/exit detection, each filtered to the target types you choose.
Q.09

Can I talk through the camera from my phone?

Yes — dual built-in microphones and the speaker give genuine two-way talk through the Hik-Connect app: hear what's happening and speak to whoever is there, live.
Q.10

Which NVR do I need for this camera?

Any current Hikvision PoE NVR records it, and because AcuSense classification runs in the camera itself, human and vehicle filtering works on the M-series recorders we kit it with — the DS-7604NI-M1/4P and DS-7608NI-M2/8P.
Q.11

Will it work with a non-Hikvision NVR?

Yes — it is ONVIF conformant (Profile S, G and T). You keep video and motion events; the smoothest experience with AcuSense filtering and the Hik-Connect app stays within the Hikvision ecosystem.
Q.12

Can I use this camera without an NVR?

You can — it takes a MicroSD card up to 512GB (not included) and streams to the Hik-Connect app. Most buyers still pair it with an NVR for longer retention, all cameras in one timeline and easier playback; treat the SD slot as backup.
Q.13

Is a Hikvision camera safe to use in Australia?

Hikvision equipment was removed from federal government sites in 2023 as a precaution, and there is no restriction on private or business use. This camera does not need a cloud account: it records to your NVR, works fully offline, and supports HTTPS, TLS and 802.1X authentication. If you want zero outbound traffic, put the system on an isolated network — it still records locally.
Q.14

Which 2366 turret should I buy?

Five variants share the same 6MP AcuSense classification. The G2H-IU is the night pick — an F1.0 lens rated 0.001 lux colour with the widest 114.8° view, plus a mic. The G2-IU is the value mic pick, and the G2-I the no-audio pick for privacy-sensitive sites. For deterrence, the G2H-IS2U/SL adds a strobe light, audible warnings and two-way talk on top of the F1.0 sensor but needs a PoE+ port; the G2-ISU/SL gives the same response on standard PoE.
Q.15

What warranty coverage applies in Australia?

The camera includes a 3-year warranty covering defects. Installation labour is not covered.
Q.16

What if I want colour at night and active deterrence?

These AcuSense cameras record quietly in infrared and never light up, which suits discretion. For full-colour night footage and a camera that warns intruders off with a strobe and voice, the ColorVu range does that with the same human and vehicle AI. Pick AcuSense for quiet evidence, ColorVu where you want to be seen and heard.
