01Overview

What the AXPRO-KIT3DETECTORS is

This Hikvision AX PRO kit is a complete wireless intrusion alarm for a home or small business, built around the DS-PWA96-M-WB hub. The kit pairs the hub with a wireless PIN keypad, three PIR motion detectors and two sirens, one for outside and one for inside, so you can arm and disarm at the door and have both an audible warning and a phone alert when a zone is triggered. Everything talks to the hub over Hikvision's Tri-X two-way wireless with AES-128 encryption, which keeps battery life long and the signal reliable, and the whole system is set up and run from the free Hik-Connect app.

The hub is the strength of this kit. It handles up to 96 wireless zones and outputs, so the three detectors supplied are just the starting point and you can keep adding detectors, contacts, keyfobs and sirens as the property grows. It reports over Wi-Fi, wired network and an optional 3G/4G SIM, so if the internet drops the SIM still gets the alert out, and a built-in lithium backup battery keeps it running through a power cut. Alerts arrive as app push notifications and phone calls to the people you nominate, and the system can also report to a professional alarm receiving centre over the SIA-DC09 protocol if you choose monitored service later.

A couple of honest notes so expectations are right. This is a self-monitored system by default, so there is no compulsory monthly fee; you and your nominated contacts receive the alerts through the app, and a monitoring centre is optional. The DS-PK1-E-WB keypad is a PIN keypad without an LCD screen or a card reader, so for tap-to-disarm tags or an on-screen menu you would add the DS-PT1-WB tag reader or step up to the DS-PK1-LT-WB LCD keypad. The detectors offer 30 kg pet immunity to help reduce false alarms from animals.

04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the AXPRO-KIT3DETECTORS

Complete wireless starter system

Hub, keypad, three PIR detectors and indoor and outdoor sirens arrive ready to pair, so you can protect a home or small business out of the box.

No lock-in monitoring fee

Self-monitored through Hik-Connect with app and phone-call alerts, with optional alarm receiving centre reporting if you want monitored service later.

Stays connected

Wi-Fi, wired LAN and an optional 3G/4G SIM give a backup path if the internet drops, and a lithium battery rides through a power cut.

Room to grow

The 96-zone hub takes many more detectors, contacts, keyfobs and sirens, so the system expands with the property.

05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Family homes

Cover entries, hallways and living areas with three PIR detectors and warn the street with an outdoor siren.

Small businesses

Protect a shop, office or workshop with a scalable wireless system and per-user app access.

Rental and holiday properties

Arm and disarm remotely and get alerts on your phone when no one is on site.

Upgrading an old wired alarm

Replace a tired wired panel with a clean wireless install and modern app control.

06Setup

Installation & setup

  1. In the box

The DS-PWA96-M-WB hub, DS-PK1-E-WB keypad, three DS-PDP15P-EG2-WB PIR detectors, a DS-PS1-E-WB outdoor sounder and a DS-PS1-I-WB indoor sounder, with batteries and fixings.

  2. Mount the hub

Place the hub centrally with good Wi-Fi or a network point, fit the SIM if you want the mobile backup path, and power it up to charge the backup battery.

  3. Pair and place detectors

Add each detector, keypad and siren to the hub in the app, then mount the PIRs about 2.2 m high covering entries and rooms, angled so the beam sits above normal pet movement.

  4. Set up and test

Create users in Hik-Connect, set away and stay arming, choose how alerts are sent, then walk-test every zone and confirm both sirens sound and the app alerts arrive.

08Questions

Frequently asked about the AXPRO-KIT3DETECTORS

Q.01

Is there a monthly fee with this alarm kit?
No. The AX PRO kit is self-monitored by default, so you and the contacts you nominate receive alerts directly through the free Hik-Connect app and by phone call, with no compulsory subscription. If you later want a professional alarm receiving centre to watch the system, the hub can report to one over the SIA-DC09 protocol, and that monitored service would be arranged separately.
Q.02

What happens if the internet or power goes down?
The hub reports over Wi-Fi, wired network and an optional 3G/4G SIM, so if the broadband drops the SIM path can still send the alert out. A built-in lithium backup battery keeps the hub running through a mains power cut, and the system flags a fault so you know a link or the power needs attention.
Q.03

How many cameras or detectors can I add later?
The DS-PWA96-M-WB hub supports up to 96 wireless zones and outputs, including up to 48 image-verification PIRCAM detectors, plus keyfobs, tag readers and extra sirens. The three detectors in this kit are a starting point, so you can expand to door and window contacts, glass-break, smoke and more as the property grows.
Q.04

Does the keypad read tags or have a screen?
The included DS-PK1-E-WB is a PIN keypad, so you arm and disarm by entering a code. It does not have an LCD screen or a built-in tag reader. For tap-to-disarm with Mifare tags you would add a DS-PT1-WB tag reader, and for an on-screen menu you would step up to the DS-PK1-LT-WB LCD keypad.
Q.05

Will the detectors trigger on my pet?
The DS-PDP15P-EG2-WB detectors include pet immunity rated to about 30 kg, so a typical household cat or dog is far less likely to set them off. Mounting height and angle still matter, so following the detector guide and keeping the beam above normal pet movement gives the best results.
Q.06

Can I arm and disarm from my phone?
Yes. The whole system is managed from the Hik-Connect app, so you can arm in away or stay mode, disarm, check the status of each zone and review the event log from anywhere. The wireless keypad is there for quick arming and disarming at the door, and keyfobs can be added for one-touch control.
Q.07

Is this kit suitable for a business as well as a home?
Yes. The 96-zone hub, multiple user accounts and optional monitored reporting suit both homes and small commercial sites such as shops, offices and workshops. You scale the number of detectors, contacts and sirens to the size of the premises, and set up separate users so staff have their own access.
Q.08

Does the kit include door or window contacts?
This kit includes three PIR motion detectors and two sirens but no magnetic door or window contacts. Many installs add DS-PDMC-EG2-WB reed contacts to protect specific doors and windows alongside the motion detectors, and they pair to the same hub in minutes.
