What the DS-PDSMK-S-WB is

The Hikvision DS-PDSMK-S-WB is a wireless photoelectric smoke detector that adds fire warning to a Hikvision AX PRO alarm system.

Its photoelectric sensing chamber is good at picking up the slow, smouldering smoke typical of most house fires, and when it detects smoke it sounds a loud built-in alarm of 85 dB or more at three metres to wake and alert anyone nearby.

Because it is part of the AX PRO system rather than a standalone smoke alarm, it also signals the control panel over two-way 433 MHz wireless secured with AES-128 encryption, with a free-space range up to 800 metres.

That means a smoke event can push an alert to your phone through the app and to a monitoring centre, so you are warned even when you are not at home.

A red LED confirms an alarm or test, and the detector reports its signal strength and environment temperature back to the hub so you can see it is healthy.

It is powered by a sealed CR17450 lithium battery rated for up to 10 years of standby, which is not replaceable - at the end of its life you replace the whole detector, as is normal for long-life sealed smoke alarms.

It mounts on the ceiling for indoor use and is genuine Australian Hikvision stock with local warranty and support.

Note that it complements, and does not replace, the mains-powered smoke alarms required by your state's building regulations.

What's in the box

One DS-PDSMK-S-WB wireless smoke detector with a sealed battery and ceiling-mount hardware. A compatible Hikvision AX PRO alarm system is required and not included.

Installation requirements

Mount the detector on the ceiling in or near the area to be protected, following smoke-alarm placement guidance, and enrol it to your AX PRO panel by power-up, remote ID or QR code. Test it after enrolment and keep it within reliable wireless range of the panel or add a repeater on a large property. It complements, and does not replace, the compliant mains-powered smoke alarms required by regulation.
