Rather than detecting intruders, it watches for the early signs of a plumbing failure or flood - when water bridges the contacts on its probe, it signals the hub and sends an alert so you can act before a minor leak becomes a major repair.

It senses water through an included external probe as well as internal sensing, letting you place the body in a safe spot while the probe sits at the lowest point where water will gather. The body carries an IP66 rating so it copes with damp environments near sinks, dishwashers, washing machines and hot-water units. Front and rear tamper switches report interference, and set-up is handled remotely in the Hik-Connect app.

It links to the hub over Tri-X two-way wireless on 433MHz, with AES-128 encryption and frequency hopping for a secure connection across the property. A single CR2450 battery gives up to three years of life, with a low-battery warning sent to the hub. It mounts to a wall or sits on a surface indoors and pairs with a Hikvision AX PRO wireless hub such as the DS-PWA96-M-WB.
