This HiLook 6MP kit gives full eight-camera coverage on an 8-channel recorder — a sensible size for a home with several approaches or a small business across a floor and a yard.

Eight IPC-T361H-MU turret cameras run from a HiLook NVR-108MH-C/8P, which has eight built-in PoE ports, so each camera connects over a single network cable that carries power and data.

The IPC-T361H-MU is a 6MP (3200 × 1800) AcuSense turret with a couple of useful touches.

It records 30 metre infrared at night in black and white, with 120 dB true WDR for high-contrast scenes like doorways and driveways, and carries built-in dual microphones for clearer audio capture than a single-mic camera.

AcuSense classifies people and vehicles, so the system can alert you only on what matters and cut nuisance notifications from animals and weather.

The IP67 metal housings suit outdoor positions and H.265+ keeps the eight streams efficient.

The recorder ships without a hard drive, so add a surveillance-grade drive sized to eight cameras and your retention; a 4TB drive is a sensible minimum, with 6TB for longer keeping, and the NVR takes a single drive up to 8TB.

And this kit uses all eight channels, so it is fully loaded; to add more cameras you would move to a 16-channel recorder.

The cameras have a built-in microphone that records sound, but no speaker, so there is no two-way talk-back; and they have no red-and-blue or.
