The Hikvision DS-2CD2087G3-LI2U/Y is an 8 MP ColorVu 3.0 Smart Hybrid Light mini bullet built for full-colour night images in a compact outdoor body.

A large 1/1.8" sensor and a bright F1.0 lens deliver sharp 8 MP (3840 x 2160) pictures, and 130 dB Wide Dynamic Range balances bright and shaded areas in the same frame.

ColorVu 3.0 keeps full-colour images after dark rather than the black-and-white of an infrared camera.

Smart Hybrid Light is what makes that work.

It uses a low-level warm white light to hold colour at night and can fall back to infrared, with the supplement light reaching up to 40 m, so you choose between everyday colour and a more discreet mode.

AcuSense deep learning classifies people and vehicles on the camera and runs perimeter rules that alarm only on those targets, so trees, rain and animals are far less likely to set off an alert.

Dual built-in microphones capture audio alongside the video for added context.

This is the LI2U/Y variant: it has dual microphones but no built-in speaker, so it captures audio rather than offering two-way talk-back; if you need talk-back, choose a /S or /SL model with a speaker.

It is a compact metal bullet rated IP67 with a NEMA 4X anti-corrosion rating for salt-affected and industrial sites, with a microSD slot up to 512 GB and H.265+ compression.

Fixed 2.8 mm or 4 mm lens options set the view, and it runs on PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC.

What's in the box

One DS-2CD2087G3-LI2U/Y bullet camera with a mounting template, fixings and a quick guide. The PoE switch or NVR, network cable, microSD card and any junction box are supplied separately.

Installation requirements

Mount it on a wall or eave aimed along the area to cover, and run one network cable back to a PoE (802.3af) switch or NVR, or use 12 VDC. Set the Smart Hybrid Light mode and AcuSense rules in the software, and record it to a Hikvision AcuSense NVR. A junction box tidies the cabling on a flat wall.
