§ 01Overview

What the DS-2CD2367G2-LU is

Lens options: 2.8mm or 4mm focal length.

Note: Please indicate your choice in your order message.

The DS-2CD2367G2-LU is the classic ColorVu — the camera that made 24/7 colour the selling point.

A large 1/1.8" sensor behind an F1.0 lens rates 0.0008 lux in colour, and a white light supplement to 30 metres carries the colour through genuine darkness.

There is deliberately no infrared: this model commits to colour, full time.

The deep-learning classification runs on the camera — line crossing, intrusion and region entry/exit zones trigger only on humans and vehicles — the built-in mic adds audio context, WDR is the range's full 130dB, and MicroSD backup reaches 512GB.

Two honest notes.

First, in real darkness the white light is on when the scene needs it — that's how the colour happens; if visible light is a problem at your spot, the hybrid G2H-LIU adds an infrared mode for a similar price, with a newer 0.0005 lux rating.

Second, this generation's strengths are the big sensor and proven imaging — buyers wanting strobes and speakers should look at the SL models instead.

Identification runs to about 8 metres (2.8mm) or 10 metres (4mm); standard PoE at 10.5W max.

What the DS-2CD2367G2-LU features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

6MP Ultra HD

6MP captures around three times the detail of 1080p. Plenty of resolution to zoom into a face or number plate part-way down the driveway and still read it clearly.

Full Color Night Vision

Unlike plain black-and-white night vision, this camera can capture colour after dark — so you can pick out the actual colour of a car, a jacket or a bag, detail that grey infrared footage loses.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DS-2CD2367G2-LU

Colour is evidence

A red jacket, a white ute, a green bin dragged to block a gate — colour at night is what witnesses and police can act on, and this camera never drops into grey.

The big-sensor original

The 1/1.8" sensor is physically larger than most 6MP competitors' — more light per pixel is why ColorVu earned its name before the spec-sheet decimal wars.

Alerts that are worth opening

Classification on the camera means the 2am notification is a person in your driveway — not a possum, headlights or rain.

No infrared, by design

Honest scope: in true darkness the white light is on when the scene needs it. Where visible light won't fly, the hybrid G2H-LIU adds an IR mode for similar money.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Driveways and street frontage

Vehicle colours and plates need light — this camera brings its own, and the recording stays in colour for the details that matter.

Front entries and porches

Faces in colour at doorway distance with the conversation on the mic — check your state's rules on audio in shared spaces.

Well-trafficked yards

Where a light coming on is a feature, not a problem — the supplement light doubles as motion-aware area lighting.

Colour-critical business sites

Uniforms, vehicle liveries and stock colours stay identifiable around the clock — the difference between footage and evidence.

Installation & setup

01

What's in the Box

1. Hikvision DS-2CD2367G2-LU Camera × 1 2. Drill Template and Screw Kit × 1 3. Quick Start Guide × 1

02

Installation Requirements

1. Power: any 802.3af PoE NVR port or switch (max 10.5W). A separate 12V DC adapter is only needed without PoE. 2. Network: a wired Ethernet run back to your NVR or switch — PoE carries power and video together on the same line. 3. Mounting: solid wall, ceiling or eave at 2.5–3 metres, with the base sealed against the surface — the housing is IP67-rated for exposed positions.

03

App Setup

1. Activate the camera with a strong password on first connection, then add it to the Hik-Connect app via QR code. 2. Enable push notifications so human and vehicle alerts reach your phone, and pick your lighting mode (white, infrared or smart). 3. Draw line crossing and intrusion zones tight to your own property through the camera's web interface, with target type set to human and vehicle.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DS-2CD2367G2-LU

Q.01

Does the white light stay on all night?

Only when the scene needs it — smart supplement control runs the light at the level darkness demands, and in lit areas it stays off entirely. In a truly dark yard, expect it on: that's how colour at 3am happens on a no-infrared camera.
Q.02

Why is there no infrared on this model?

ColorVu's design brief is colour around the clock — infrared would mean grey footage whenever it engaged. If you want the option of invisible night vision, the hybrid G2H models add an IR mode alongside the white light.
Q.03

Will the white light annoy the neighbours?

It can if it points at them — a 30-metre white floodlight is part of how ColorVu makes colour at night. Aim the camera into your own property, use smart mode so the light only fires on real detections, or run infrared mode where any visible light is unwelcome.
Q.04

How far can it see at night?

In colour, down to 0.0008 lux through the F1.0 lens and 1/1.8" sensor, with the white light reaching 30 metres. Identification runs to about 8 metres (2.8mm) or 10 metres (4mm).
Q.05

Which lens should I pick — 2.8mm or 4mm?

The 2.8mm covers 108.8° and identifies faces to about 8 metres — right for porches, entries and close driveways. The 4mm narrows to 93.3° but stretches identification to 10 metres — the better pick for a front gate or a longer approach.
Q.06

How does the human and vehicle detection work?

Deep learning on the camera classifies what triggered an event — person, vehicle, or neither — so a possum, rain or moving branches don't page your phone. Line crossing, intrusion and region entry/exit zones each trigger only on the target types you choose.
Q.07

Does this camera record audio?

Yes — the built-in microphone adds audio to recordings. There's no speaker, so it can't talk back. Check your state's listening-device rules before recording audio in shared spaces.
Q.08

Which NVR do I need for this camera?

Any current Hikvision PoE NVR records it, and because the human and vehicle classification runs in the camera itself, smart filtering works on the M-series recorders we kit it with — the DS-7604NI-M1/4P and DS-7608NI-M2/8P.
Q.09

How many channels and what size hard drive do I need?

Count your cameras and leave room to grow: up to 4 suit a 4CH NVR, up to 8 an 8CH. Each 6MP camera writes roughly 40GB a day recording continuously, so a 4TB drive holds about 3 weeks from four cameras — and two months or more on motion-only recording.
Q.10

Will it work with a non-Hikvision NVR?

Yes — it is ONVIF conformant (Profile S, G and T). You keep video and motion events; the smoothest experience with smart filtering and the Hik-Connect app stays within the Hikvision ecosystem.
Q.11

Can I use this camera without an NVR?

You can — it takes a MicroSD card up to 512GB (not included) and streams to the Hik-Connect app. Most buyers still pair it with an NVR for longer retention, all cameras in one timeline and easier playback; treat the SD slot as backup.
Q.12

Is a Hikvision camera safe to use in Australia?

Hikvision equipment was removed from federal government sites in 2023 as a precaution, and there is no restriction on private or business use. This camera does not need a cloud account: it records to your NVR, works fully offline, and supports HTTPS, TLS and 802.1X authentication. If you want zero outbound traffic, put the system on an isolated network — it still records locally.
Q.13

Which 2367 ColorVu should I buy?

Six variants, one job — colour at night. The G3 is the deterrence flagship: dual mics, the loudest speaker, salt-air-rated housing, but it needs a PoE+ port. The G2H-LISU/SL gives strobe, warnings and two-way talk on standard PoE. The G2H-LIU is the quiet hybrid pick, the G2-LU the classic 24/7-colour model, the G2P sweeps 180° from one mount, and the T67 bullet pushes the light out to 60 metres.
Q.14

How does the 2367 ColorVu differ from the 2366 AcuSense range?

Same AI, different night strategy. The 2366 family lights the scene with invisible infrared — discreet, black-and-white at night. This 2367 family adds white light for full-colour night footage, with the hybrid models letting you switch between the two. If a camera that never visibly lights up matters more than night colour, the 2366 G2H-IU is the pick.
Q.15

What warranty coverage applies in Australia?

The camera includes a 3-year warranty covering defects. Installation labour is not covered.
