§ 01Overview
What the DH-IPC-HDW3841TP-ZAS is
The Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3841TP-ZAS is an 8MP (4K) WizSense motorised varifocal turret that pairs high 4K detail with a remote-adjustable lens.
A 1/2.8-inch 8MP sensor resolves faces and licence plates across wide scenes, with Starlight low-light imaging and 120dB WDR for difficult lighting, and the 2.7-13.5mm motorised lens lets you reframe from a wide area to a tighter view remotely.
WizSense analytics classify humans and vehicles, so SMD Plus and perimeter protection (tripwire and intrusion) raise relevant alerts and filter out animals and weather.
Quick Pick, with a compatible Dahua AI NVR, speeds up finding targets in recorded footage.
Note that at full 4K the main stream runs at 20fps with AI enabled and 25/30fps with AI disabled.
A built-in microphone, 50m Smart IR and an IP67 housing with PoE or 12V DC power suit demanding commercial and residential sites.

§ 04Why choose this
Built for the way you actually use the DH-IPC-HDW3841TP-ZAS
Accurate, filtered alerts
SMD Plus and perimeter protection classify humans and vehicles, cutting nuisance alerts from animals, foliage and weather.
Clear in difficult light
Starlight imaging with 120dB WDR holds detail in low light and high-contrast scenes such as entries and forecourts.
Faster review with an AI NVR
Quick Pick, on a compatible Dahua AI NVR, helps operators find human and vehicle targets in recorded footage quickly.
§ 05Where it fits
Right at home in these scenarios
Commercial perimeters
4K detail with human and vehicle filtering covers wide boundaries and entries, with 50m Smart IR for darkness.
Car parks and forecourts
8MP resolution with a remote lens covers bays and lanes, focusing on an entry point or approach as needed.
Larger residential properties
High detail across driveways and yards, with perimeter rules filtered to people and vehicles to reduce false alerts.
Sites needing evidentiary detail
4K resolution supports post-incident review where reading plates and identifying individuals at distance matters.
§ 06Setup
Installation & setup
Choose 4K or frame rate priority
Decide whether 4K with AI at 20fps or a higher frame rate with AI off suits the scene, and set the resolution and stream accordingly during commissioning.
Power over PoE or 12V DC
Connect to a PoE switch or NVR over a single cable, or provide a 12V DC supply where PoE is unavailable.
Mount and set the lens
Fix the turret on wall, eave or ceiling with a Dahua junction box such as the PFA130-E where needed, then set the motorised zoom and focus remotely.
Configure WizSense rules
Set SMD Plus and perimeter tripwire and intrusion rules with human and vehicle classification, and pair an AI NVR for Quick Pick search.
