The Dahua DH-IPC-HDW2541EMP-AS-ANZ is a 5MP WizSense turret camera built for homes and small businesses that want reliable AI detection and clear low-light footage without paying a premium. Its 1/2.7 inch 5-megapixel CMOS sensor captures 2592 by 1944 detail with 120 dB WDR and Dahua's Starlight technology, which holds a usable image in dim, partly lit areas before full darkness.
It ships with a fixed 2.8 mm lens for a wide field of view, suiting an entry, carport or yard rather than a long, narrow driveway. At night the camera switches to infrared, lighting the scene to about 30 m in black and white. Note that some listings quote 50 m, but the Dahua datasheet rates this model to 30 m, which is the figure used here, so plan your camera spacing around a 30 m reach.
SMD Plus, part of Dahua's WizSense range, classifies human and vehicle movement so alerts and recording follow people and cars rather than animals, foliage or weather. A built-in microphone records audio alongside the video. There is a microphone but no built-in speaker, so the camera captures sound rather than offering two-way talk.
It is an IP67-rated outdoor camera that records to a microSD card up to 256 GB or to a Dahua WizSense NVR, and runs on PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC over a single cable. Installation & setup
What's in the box
The DH-IPC-HDW2541EMP-AS-ANZ turret camera, mounting base and screw pack, a waterproofing gland for the network connector and a quick start guide. A PoE switch or injector, network cable, microSD card and any junction box or bracket are not included. Specify white or black in your order message.
Installation requirements
Mount the camera to a wall or eave, ideally 2.5 to 3 m high, angled down over the area you want to watch, and run Cat5e or Cat6 back to a PoE switch or Dahua NVR (IEEE 802.3af). Seal the connector with the supplied gland for outdoor use. Insert a microSD card or set the camera to record to your NVR, then enable SMD Plus and draw any detection zones in the app or NVR before leaving site.

Is this a 5MP or 6MP camera and what is the real IR range?
It is a 5MP camera, recording 2592 by 1944. Some older listings mention 6MP, but the Dahua datasheet confirms a 5-megapixel sensor. For night vision, the built-in IR LED reaches about 30 m; some titles quote 50 m, but the official specification is 30 m, so plan around a 30 m reach.
