Dahua DH-IPC-HFW3541TP-ZS-27135 5MP Lite AI Motorised Starlight Bullet, Perimeter, SMD WDR, IR60m
The Dahua DH-IPC-HFW3541TP-ZS is a 5MP WizSense bullet camera with a motorised 2.7-13.5mm zoom lens and up to 60 metres of infrared. SMD 4.0 deep learning classifies people and vehicles, so alerts and recorded events focus on real activity rather than animals, rain or moving foliage, and the motorised lens lets you set the exact field of view remotely.

§ 01Overview
What the DH-IPC-HFW3541TP-ZS-27135 is
The Dahua DH-IPC-HFW3541TP-ZS is a 5MP WizSense bullet camera built around a motorised 2.7-13.5mm vari-focal lens, so you can zoom and focus the view from the app or NVR instead of climbing back up to adjust a fixed lens.
Wide, it watches a whole yard; zoomed in, it reaches a gate or driveway entrance, identifying a person at about 21 metres at the tele end on the DORI scale.
SMD 4.0 is the headline feature.
Dahua's smart motion detection classifies people and vehicles and ignores other movement, so possums, insects, rain and swaying branches stop triggering your phone, and footage becomes searchable by human or vehicle events.
With a Dahua AI NVR, Quick Pick lets you pull those targets straight out of recorded SMD events.
A 1/2.7" Starlight sensor keeps colour usable in low light, and up to 60 metres of infrared covers the scene in black and white once it is fully dark.
It has a built-in microphone for audio context, a microSD slot up to 256GB for on-board recording, and an IP67 metal housing (IK10 optional) with wide-voltage tolerance for unstable outdoor supplies.
It runs on 12V DC or PoE (802.3af) over a single Cat5e/6 cable and is normally fitted by a security or cabling technician.

§ 04Why choose this
Built for the way you actually use the DH-IPC-HFW3541TP-ZS-27135
Alerts on what matters
SMD 4.0 classifies people and vehicles, so animals, rain and moving branches stop triggering alerts and footage stays searchable by event type.
Clear in low light
A 1/2.7" Starlight sensor and 60m infrared keep usable images from dusk into full darkness across a driveway or yard.
Backed locally
Supplied by an authorised dealer with a 3-year Australian warranty and support.
§ 05Where it fits
Right at home in these scenarios
Driveways and front yards
Zoom the lens to frame the approach exactly, with AI alerts aimed at people and vehicles rather than wildlife.
Boundaries and fence lines
60m IR and perimeter protection watch a long boundary at night and flag intruders, not blowing rubbish.
Carparks and laneways
The motorised tele end reaches plates and faces down a longer run without a separate fixed-lens camera.
Small business frontage
Cover an entry and footpath, using the built-in mic for context and SMD to keep alerts meaningful overnight.
§ 06Setup
Installation & setup
Mount and cable
Fix to a wall or eave 2.5-3m high and run one Cat5e/6 cable from a PoE (802.3af) switch or NVR port, or use a 12V DC supply.
Set the zoom remotely
After power-up, adjust the motorised 2.7-13.5mm lens from the app or NVR to frame the exact area, then let it auto-focus.
Tidy the terminations
Add the PFA137 junction box for weather-protected cabling behind the camera.
Record and tune
In Australia a network camera is usually fitted by a licensed security installer or a competent IT/cabling technician who runs the Cat5e/6 cable, terminates the RJ45, mounts the unit and adds it to the NVR or app. Add it to a Dahua NVR or DMSS, then set human and vehicle detection zones and tripwire lines.

§ 09Bundles
Recommended packages
Record it on an NVR
Pair it with a Dahua PoE NVR such as the NVR4104HS-P, NVR4108HS-8P or NVR4216-16P and leave a free PoE channel.
Add AI search
Step up to a Dahua AI NVR such as the NVR5208-8P to use Quick Pick search on SMD events.
Add storage
Fit a surveillance-grade 2TB or 6TB drive for continuous 5MP recording.
Pick a fixed-lens sibling
If you do not need motorised zoom, the HFW3541EP-SA fixed-lens model covers the same role for less.
