§ 01Overview

What the DH-SD6CE445XA-HNR is

The Dahua DH-SD6CE445XA-HNR is a 4MP WizSense IP PTZ built for large outdoor sites that need both wide coverage and long-range detail.

A 45x optical zoom on a 1/2.8-inch STARVIS sensor lets operators sweep an entire yard or perimeter and then zoom in to read detail at distance, with published DORI identify range around 318m.

A 360 degree endless pan and a -20 to 90 degree tilt with auto flip give full directional control from a single mounting point.

Deep-learning analytics drive auto tracking, so the camera locks onto and follows a moving person or vehicle across the scene, and perimeter protection (tripwire and intrusion) with human and vehicle classification, SMD Plus and face detection keep alerts focused on real targets.

A Smart IR illuminator reaches up to 250m for night coverage well beyond standard cameras, while Starlight low light and 120dB WDR hold detail in dim and high-contrast scenes.

The IP67 and IK10 metal housing suits exposed positions; it draws power from DC24V or PoE+ (802.3at), so plan the supply for the load.

What the DH-SD6CE445XA-HNR features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

4MP Ultra HD

4MP captures roughly twice the detail of standard 1080p.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DH-SD6CE445XA-HNR

Wide coverage and long-range detail

A 45x optical zoom on a 4MP sensor covers a whole site and zooms to read detail at distance, replacing several fixed cameras.

Hands-free tracking

Deep-learning auto tracking follows people and vehicles across the scene, so operators are not constantly steering the camera.

Sees far after dark

A Smart IR illuminator reaches up to 250m, keeping distant targets visible in complete darkness across open areas.

Built for harsh sites

An IP67 and IK10 metal housing with a -40C to +70C range and a heater suits exposed perimeters, yards and poles.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Industrial yards and compounds

Wide-area coverage with 45x zoom and 250m IR monitors large open sites and reads detail at long range after dark.

Perimeters and boundary lines

Auto tracking and perimeter rules follow movement along fences and across open ground from a single elevated position.

Car parks and campuses

360 degree pan and 4MP detail cover large public areas, zooming to incidents and reading plates or signage as needed.

Rural and remote properties

A weatherproof, heated housing and long IR range suit exposed pole positions on farms, depots and acreage.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

Plan the power supply

This PTZ needs DC24V or PoE+ (802.3at). A standard 802.3af port will not power it, so specify an 802.3at PoE+ switch or injector, or a DC24V supply, sized for up to 26W with IR and heater on.

02

Mount for clear sightlines

Fix the camera to a pole, parapet or wall bracket with a clear, elevated view, allowing the full 360 degree pan and tilt range to cover the intended area.

03

Set tracking, presets and tours

Configure perimeter tripwire and intrusion rules with human and vehicle classification, auto tracking and presets and tours so the camera patrols and follows movement.

04

Pair an NVR sized for the job

Connect to a Dahua AI NVR with a high-capacity surveillance hard drive, and confirm it supports the resolution and your chosen power method.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DH-SD6CE445XA-HNR

Q.01

How far can this PTZ see at night and at distance?

A Smart IR illuminator reaches up to 250m, and the 45x optical zoom on a 4MP sensor gives a published identify range around 318m in good conditions. The IR intensity adjusts with the zoom level so close subjects are not overexposed while distant ones stay lit, suiting large yards, car parks and perimeters.
Q.02

Does it follow people and vehicles automatically?

Yes. Deep-learning auto tracking locks onto a moving target and keeps it in view as it crosses the scene, triggered by perimeter rules such as tripwire and intrusion. Set the target ratio carefully, as too tight or too loose a setting reduces tracking accuracy.
Q.03

How does it tell people and vehicles apart from false alarms?

WizSense perimeter protection and SMD Plus classify movement as human or vehicle before alerting, filtering out animals, foliage, bright lights and weather. This keeps tripwire and intrusion alerts and auto tracking focused on genuine targets rather than nuisance motion.
Q.04

How is it powered?

It runs on DC24V or PoE+ (802.3at). A standard 802.3af PoE port does not supply enough power for this PTZ, so use an 802.3at PoE+ switch or injector, or a DC24V supply, sized for up to 26W with the IR and heater on. Confirm your NVR or switch port meets 802.3at before installing.
Q.05

Can I set patrol tours and preset positions?

Yes. It supports 300 presets plus tour and pattern modes. You can build a tour by adding presets in order and setting the speed and dwell time, so the camera cycles through key points automatically, or drive it manually from the NVR or app as needed.
Q.06

Is it tough enough for exposed outdoor sites?

Yes. The metal housing is IP67 against dust and water and IK10 against impact, with a -40C to +70C operating range and a built-in heater for cold starts. This suits open perimeters, industrial yards and pole-mounted positions in harsh Australian conditions.
Q.07

Does it have two-way audio?

No. It provides line-level audio in and out connections for external audio devices, but it has no built-in microphone or speaker, so it does not record on-site audio or support two-way talk on its own.
Q.08

What recorder should I use with it?

Pair it with a Dahua AI NVR sized for the resolution and the analytics you want, with a high-capacity surveillance hard drive for continuous recording. Confirm the NVR supports the camera resolution and provides or works alongside an 802.3at PoE+ or DC24V power source.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

02

Power and cabling

This PTZ requires PoE+ (802.3at) or DC24V; plan a PoE+ switch or injector sized for the load, with quality Cat6 cable for the data run. A standard 802.3af port will not power it.

03

Network distribution

Distribute camera connections with a Dahua PoE switch; confirm it supplies 802.3at to the PTZ port or use a dedicated PoE+ injector at the camera.
