§ 01Overview

What the DH-TPC-DF1241 / DH-TPC-DF1241P-D2F2 is

The Dahua DH-TPC-DF1241 is a hybrid thermal eyeball camera that combines an uncooled VOx thermal imager (256 x 192, sensitivity below 50mK) with a 1/2.7-inch 4MP visible sensor in one housing.

The thermal channel sees in total darkness and through rain, fog and smoke for early heat and fire detection, while the visible channel with Smart IR to 30m confirms detail.

Dual image fusion can merge both channels so operators see heat signatures and visual context together.

Built-in fire detection raises an alarm on small heat sources, and AI smoking and call detection trigger a light and sound warning to deter behaviour in restricted areas.

IVS tripwire and intrusion classify humans and vehicles to reduce false alarms.

The IP67 housing with 6kV surge protection, rated -30C to +60C, suits warehouses, plant rooms, schools and other fire-sensitive sites.

This is a special-order item with a 6 to 10 week lead time.

What the DH-TPC-DF1241 / DH-TPC-DF1241P-D2F2 features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

4MP Ultra HD

4MP captures roughly twice the detail of standard 1080p.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DH-TPC-DF1241 / DH-TPC-DF1241P-D2F2

Early fire and heat warning

A thermal imager detects developing heat sources and fire earlier than visible cameras, giving valuable warning time in warehouses, plant rooms and other fire-sensitive sites.

Sees where normal cameras cannot

The thermal channel works in total darkness and through smoke, fog and rain, while the 4MP visible channel adds detail and context when light allows.

Behaviour deterrence built in

AI smoking and call detection trigger a light and sound warning automatically, helping enforce no-smoking and safety policies in restricted zones.

One camera, two channels

Dual image fusion combines heat and visible imaging in a single unit, simplifying installation compared with separate thermal and optical cameras.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Warehouses and storage facilities

Thermal fire detection gives early warning over racking, baling and storage areas where a developing hot spot can go unseen by visible cameras.

Recycling and waste sites

Heat monitoring over stockpiles helps spot self-heating and ignition risk before it becomes a fire, day or night.

Schools, hospitals and offices

Smoking and call detection support policy enforcement in stairwells, restrooms and restricted areas, with a light and sound deterrent warning.

Perimeters in darkness

The thermal channel detects people and vehicles in total darkness, with IVS classification keeping tripwire and intrusion alerts relevant.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

Plan thermal placement

Position the camera so the area to monitor falls within the thermal field of view and follow Dahua's commissioning guidance for fire and smoking detection so distances and angles suit reliable detection.

02

Power over PoE or 12V DC

Run a single PoE cable or provide a 12V DC supply. Allow for the heater and LED load when sizing PoE budget for cold or busy sites.

03

Mount and seal the cabling

Use a Dahua wall bracket such as the PFB203W with a PFA130-E junction box to route and seal cabling on the IP67 housing for outdoor positions.

04

Allow for lead time

As a special-order item with a 6 to 10 week lead time, order early and confirm availability before scheduling commissioning.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DH-TPC-DF1241 / DH-TPC-DF1241P-D2F2

Q.01

What is the DH-TPC-DF1241 built for?

It is a hybrid thermal and visible camera for early fire warning and specialised heat monitoring. The thermal channel detects heat and fire in total darkness and through smoke or fog, while the 4MP visible channel confirms what is happening. It suits warehouses, plant rooms, recycling sites and other fire-sensitive areas.
Q.02

How does fire detection work on a thermal camera?

The thermal imager is sensitive to temperature, so it can detect a developing heat source and raise an alarm earlier and more reliably than a visible camera relying on visible smoke or flame. Detection range depends on the heat source size and site conditions; follow Dahua's commissioning guidance for placement.
Q.03

Can it see in complete darkness?

Yes. The thermal channel needs no light at all and images purely from heat, so it works in total darkness and through rain, fog and smoke. The visible channel adds Smart IR up to 30m so you also get a conventional picture for identification when there is some detail to resolve.
Q.04

What is smoking detection and how does it respond?

Using AI, the camera detects smoking behaviour in monitored zones and triggers an intelligent light and sound warning through its white light and audio linkage to deter the behaviour. It also supports call (phone use) detection for the same kind of policy monitoring.
Q.05

Does it have two-way audio or a built-in speaker?

The datasheet lists an audio input and an audio output interface for connecting external devices, rather than a self-contained two-way intercom. Connect an external microphone or speaker to the audio ports if you need on-site audio, and use the alarm output for linked sirens or strobes.
Q.06

Does it classify people and vehicles?

Yes. Its IVS tripwire and intrusion analytics support human and vehicle classification, so perimeter alerts focus on people and vehicles rather than animals or moving foliage, alongside the thermal fire and behaviour analytics.
Q.07

How is it powered and mounted?

It runs on 12V DC or PoE over a single cable and carries an IP67 rating with 6kV surge protection for outdoor use. Mount it with a Dahua bracket such as the PFB203W wall mount and a PFA130-E junction box for tidy, sealed cabling.
Q.08

Is there a lead time on this camera?

Yes. It is a special-order item with a 6 to 10 week lead time, so plan project schedules accordingly and confirm current availability before committing to a fixed install date.
