tp-link VIGI C385 8MP Full-Colour Speaker / Mic / Light Bullet Network Camera 4mm

SKU: VIGI C385 4mm
Description

The TP-Link VIGI C385 is an 8MP (4K) full-colour bullet camera built for clear footage day and night. This is the 4 mm version, giving a slightly tighter, longer-reaching view than the 2.8 mm model — a good fit for driveways, entrances and corridors where you want more detail further out. A bright F1.6 lens with white LEDs keeps the picture in full colour after dark, while infrared takes over to 30 metres if you would rather stay covert. Human and vehicle AI, two-way audio and an active-deterrence light and audible alarm round out a camera that can warn off a visitor, not just record one. It powers over a single PoE cable or 12 V DC and carries an IP67 metal housing.

§ 01Overview

What the VIGI C385 4mm is

The TP-Link VIGI C385 is an 8MP outdoor bullet camera that keeps recording in true colour around the clock.

This listing is the 4 mm lens variant: it covers a 91.5° horizontal field of view and reaches further down a scene than the wider 2.8 mm version, which suits driveways, side passages, gateways and shop entrances where you care about detail at distance.

At 4K resolution you can pick out faces, clothing and vehicle details, and digitally zoom into recorded footage and still keep usable detail.

At night it does not fall back to grainy black and white.

A high-sensitivity sensor and white LEDs hold full colour to about 30 metres, and if you prefer a discreet setup the camera can switch to 850 nm infrared, also to 30 metres.

Human and vehicle classification filters out moving trees, rain and shadows so you are alerted to people and cars rather than everything that moves, and the built-in microphone and speaker let you talk through the camera or trigger an audible warning with the white light to deter someone in real time.

It is built for Australian outdoor use: an IP67-rated metal housing, a wide operating range and efficient H.265+ recording that stretches storage on an NVR or a microSD card of up to 512 GB.

Power and data run over one PoE cable (802.3af/at), or you can use a 12 V DC supply.

The camera works with a TP-Link VIGI NVR for the full smart-event experience, or with any NVR, NAS or software that supports ONVIF.

It is genuine stock with a local 3-year warranty and support.

What the VIGI C385 4mm features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

8MP Ultra HD

8MP (4K) resolution captures four times the detail of 1080p.
Even when a person or car is far down the driveway, you can zoom in and still recognise a face or read a number plate — detail that lower-resolution cameras lose.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

Dual-Light Night Vision

Combines infrared with a warm spotlight so it can light a scene in colour at night rather than relying on black-and-white alone — clearer, more useful footage when there's something to see.

Full Color Night Vision

Unlike plain black-and-white night vision, this camera can capture colour after dark — so you can pick out the actual colour of a car, a jacket or a bag, detail that grey infrared footage loses.

False Alarm Reduction

Filtering helps separate real activity from harmless movement like rain, leaves or pets, so you get fewer pointless notifications and the alerts that matter stand out.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

Two-Way Audio

Talk and listen in real time through the app — tell a courier where to leave a parcel, or speak to someone at the gate, whether you're home or away.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the VIGI C385 4mm

Detail you can use

8MP 4K resolution captures faces, plates and clothing clearly, and lets you zoom into recorded footage without it falling apart.

Colour through the night

White LEDs hold true colour to about 30 m, with infrared on hand for a discreet 30 m black-and-white view when you want it.

Alerts that mean something

Human and vehicle classification ignores rain, shadows and foliage, so notifications are about people and cars rather than every movement.

It can warn, not just watch

Two-way audio plus a deterrence light and siren let you speak to or scare off an intruder live from your phone.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Driveways and gateways

The 4 mm lens reaches down a driveway to catch arriving vehicles and visitors in colour, day or night.

Entrances and corridors

A tighter field of view keeps detail on faces at a door, gate or hallway where a wide lens would lose it.

Shopfronts and loading areas

Two-way audio and active deterrence let staff speak to people or warn them off after hours.

Perimeter lines

Human and vehicle AI with line-crossing and intrusion rules focuses alerts on genuine perimeter events.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One VIGI C385 (4 mm) camera with mounting accessories, waterproof cable attachments and a quick start guide. An NVR, PoE switch or power supply, network cable and any microSD card are supplied separately.

02

Installation requirements

Mount it on a wall or eave covering the line you want, run one network cable back to a PoE switch or VIGI NVR (or use a 12 V DC supply), and activate it in the VIGI app or Security Manager. Set the night mode, AI rules and deterrence schedule, then test a walk-through before relying on it.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the VIGI C385 4mm

Q.01

Does the VIGI C385 record in colour at night?

Yes. It keeps full colour in low light using a high-sensitivity sensor and built-in white LEDs to around 30 metres. If you prefer a discreet setup it can switch to 850 nm infrared, also to 30 metres, which records in black and white. You choose the mode or let it switch automatically.
Q.02

What is the difference between the 4mm and 2.8mm version?

This 4 mm model gives a 91.5° horizontal field of view and reaches further into a scene, which suits driveways, corridors and entrances where detail at distance matters. The 2.8 mm version is wider at 111.4° and better for open yards and shopfronts where you want to cover more ground close up.
Q.03

Does it have two-way audio?

Yes. The C385 has a built-in microphone and speaker, so through the VIGI app, NVR or web interface you can listen to the scene and speak back in real time. The same speaker drives the audible warning used for active deterrence.
Q.04

How does the active deterrence work?

When the camera detects a person or vehicle in an armed area it can flash its white light and sound an audible alarm to warn the intruder off, and send you a push notification. The triggers and schedules are set in the VIGI app so it only fires when you want it to.
Q.05

How is it powered?

Over a single network cable using PoE (802.3af/at), so one run carries both power and data, or from a 12 V DC supply if you do not have PoE. PoE is the usual choice with a VIGI NVR, which supplies power on each of its built-in ports.
Q.06

Does it need a VIGI NVR, or will it work with my Hikvision or Dahua recorder?

It works best with a TP-Link VIGI NVR, which unlocks the full smart-event and management features. It also supports ONVIF (Profile S) and RTSP, so it can be added to any third-party NVR, NAS or software that supports ONVIF, including Hikvision and Dahua recorders that offer ONVIF.
Q.07

How much storage does it support on a card?

It takes a microSD card up to 512 GB for on-board recording, which is handy for edge storage or as a backup if the network drops. For continuous multi-day recording most installs pair it with a VIGI NVR and a surveillance-grade hard drive.
Q.08

Is it suitable for outdoor use in Australia?

Yes. It has an IP67-rated metal housing and a wide operating temperature range, so it stands up to rain, dust, heat and sun. It is genuine stock supplied with a local 3-year warranty and support.
