What the Insight S445ZI is

The TP-Link VIGI InSight S445ZI is a 4MP motorised varifocal turret camera, the turret-bodied sibling of the S345ZI bullet.

Its 2.7-13.5mm lens gives a 5x optical zoom that you set remotely in the VIGI app or NVR, with motorised focus, so a single camera can frame a wide entrance or zoom into a distant point.

The low-profile turret form is discreet and easy to aim, and it mounts neatly on a wall or ceiling.

It records 4MP (2688 x 1520) video on a 1/2.9-inch sensor with 120dB true wide dynamic range for high-contrast scenes such as doorways and windows, and an IR illuminator for night vision up to 60 m; as an IR camera, night footage is black-and-white.

AI human and vehicle classification cuts false alarms, and smart events include motion, intrusion and loitering detection.

The camera has a built-in microphone, and an audio-out line lets you connect an external speaker for talk-back.

The S445ZI has an IP67 weatherproof, IK10 vandal-resistant metal housing and runs on PoE (802.3af/at) or 12V DC.

It records to a microSD card up to 512GB and works with VIGI NVRs and the VIGI app, or with third-party recorders over ONVIF (Profile S/T/G) and RTSP.

It is normally fitted by a security or cabling technician.
