01Overview

What the Insight S345ZI is

The TP-Link VIGI InSight S345ZI is a 4MP motorised varifocal bullet camera built for jobs where the field of view has to be dialled in exactly. Its 2.7-13.5mm lens gives a 5x optical zoom that you adjust remotely in the VIGI app or NVR, from a wide 102-degree view down to a narrow long-range shot, with motorised focus to match. That makes one camera suit a wide forecourt or a tight, distant target such as a gate at the end of a driveway.

It records 4MP (2688 x 1520) video on a 1/2.9-inch sensor, with 120dB true wide dynamic range to balance bright and shadowed areas, and a powerful IR illuminator for night vision up to 60 m. Because it is an IR camera, night footage is black-and-white. AI human and vehicle classification reduces false alarms, and smart events include intrusion, line-crossing and loitering detection. The camera has a built-in microphone, and an audio-out line lets you add an external speaker for talk-back.

The S345ZI has an IP67 weatherproof, IK10 vandal-resistant metal housing and runs on PoE (802.3af/at) or 12V DC. It records to a microSD card up to 512GB and works with VIGI NVRs and the VIGI app, or with third-party recorders over ONVIF (Profile S/T/G) and RTSP. It is normally fitted by a security or cabling technician.

Installation & setup

  1. What it is

    A 4MP motorised varifocal (5x zoom) IR bullet camera with IP67/IK10 housing, for outdoor long-range use.

  2. Power and network

    PoE (802.3af/at) over one Cat5e/6 cable, or 12V DC. It connects to a PoE NVR or PoE switch.

  3. Mounting and focus

    Wall or eave mount facing the target; set zoom and focus remotely. Add a junction box for cable management.

  4. Audio note

    In Australia a network camera is usually fitted by a licensed security installer or a competent IT/cabling technician, who runs the Cat5e/6 cable, terminates the RJ45, mounts the camera and adds it to the NVR or VIGI app. For talk-back, wire an external speaker to the camera's audio-out; the built-in microphone handles listen-in.
