§ 01Overview

What the IPC-T282H-MU is

The HiLook IPC-T282H-MU is an 8MP AcuSense turret camera built for sharp 4K detail with intelligent detection, suiting entries, driveways and commercial frontages where you want to identify faces and number plates and keep alerts meaningful.

Its 1/2.7 inch CMOS sensor captures 3840 by 2160 at up to 12.5 fps (50 Hz) or 15 fps (60 Hz), with 120 dB WDR to handle backlit doorways and bright skies.

AcuSense is the headline feature.

HiLook's deep-learning analytics classify movement as human or vehicle, so motion alerts and recording follow people and cars rather than pets, blowing foliage or passing headlights.

That cuts down nuisance notifications and makes it far quicker to find a real event when you review footage, especially when the camera is paired with an AcuSense NVR for target-based search.

At night the camera switches to infrared, lighting the scene to about 30 m in black and white.

A built-in microphone records audio with the video; there is a microphone but no built-in speaker, so the camera captures sound rather than offering two-way talk.

H.265+ compression keeps bandwidth and storage down without sacrificing image quality.

It is an IP67-rated outdoor camera that runs on PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC over a single cable and records to a microSD card or to a HiLook or Hikvision NVR.

It is supplied with a fixed lens, so choose the mounting position for the field of view you need.

The night image is black and white in infrared mode, as this is an IR camera rather than a full-colour or dual-light model.

What the IPC-T282H-MU features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

8MP Ultra HD

8MP (4K) resolution captures four times the detail of 1080p.
Even when a person or car is far down the driveway, you can zoom in and still recognise a face or read a number plate — detail that lower-resolution cameras lose.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

False Alarm Reduction

Filtering helps separate real activity from harmless movement like rain, leaves or pets, so you get fewer pointless notifications and the alerts that matter stand out.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the IPC-T282H-MU

4K detail that identifies

An 8MP sensor captures faces and number plates with room to digitally zoom in on review, giving evidence-grade footage well beyond a 2MP or 4MP turret.

AI that cuts the noise

AcuSense deep-learning classification drives alerts and recording from confirmed human and vehicle activity, so you are not chasing notifications from pets, weather or headlights.

Efficient on storage

H.265+ compression keeps 4K recordings manageable, so you store more days of footage on the same NVR or microSD capacity.

Easy to deploy

A single PoE cable, plug-and-play NVR support and a compact turret body make it quick to install on homes, offices and shopfronts.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Front entries and driveways

Capture visitors and vehicles in 4K with AcuSense filtering alerts to real people and cars, day and to 30 m at night.

Retail and office frontages

High-resolution coverage of doorways and counters, with AI search that makes finding an incident on the NVR fast.

Yards and perimeters

Deep-learning detection flags a person crossing a boundary while ignoring animals and foliage to keep alerts meaningful.

Standalone or NVR systems

Record to a microSD card for a single camera, or add it to a HiLook or Hikvision AcuSense NVR for continuous recording and target-based search.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

The IPC-T282H-MU turret camera, mounting base and screw pack, a waterproofing gland for the network connector and a quick start guide. A PoE switch or injector, network cable, microSD card and any junction box or bracket are not included.

02

Installation requirements

Mount the camera to a wall or eave, ideally 2.5 to 3 m high, angled down over the area you want to watch, and run Cat5e or Cat6 back to a PoE switch or a HiLook/Hikvision NVR (IEEE 802.3af). Seal the connector with the supplied gland for outdoor use. Insert a microSD card or point recording at your NVR, then enable AcuSense and draw any detection zones in the app or NVR before leaving site.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the IPC-T282H-MU

Q.01

What does AcuSense do on this camera?

AcuSense is HiLook's deep-learning detection. It classifies movement as a human or a vehicle, so the camera only alerts and records on people and cars rather than on pets, insects, moving trees or passing headlights. Paired with an AcuSense NVR, it also lets you filter recordings by people or vehicles, so reviewing footage is much faster than scrubbing through hours of motion clips.
Q.02

Is the night vision colour or black and white?

It is an infrared camera, so the night image is black and white. The built-in IR LEDs light the scene to about 30 m. If you specifically want full-colour footage at night, look at a ColorVu or hybrid-light model such as the IPC-T363H-MU or an active deterrence camera instead.
Q.03

Does it have two-way audio?

It has a built-in microphone that records audio with the video, but no built-in speaker, so it does not offer two-way talk. It captures sound rather than letting you speak back through the camera.
Q.04

What resolution and frame rate does it record?

It records up to 8MP (3840 x 2160), which is true 4K detail, at up to 12.5 fps on 50 Hz (15 fps on 60 Hz). The frame rate stays the same at lower resolutions, so this model favours detail over high-frame-rate motion.
Q.05

Will it work with my HiLook or Hikvision NVR?

Yes. It is ONVIF compliant and works plug-and-play with HiLook NVRs that have PoE ports, and integrates with Hikvision NVRs too. To get the most from AcuSense target search, use an AcuSense-capable NVR and keep its firmware up to date. It can also record to a microSD card on its own if you do not have an NVR yet.
Q.06

Is the lens fixed or can I zoom it?

This is a fixed-lens model, so you set the field of view by where you mount it rather than zooming. It suits entries, driveways and frontages at typical mounting heights. If you need to adjust the view remotely after mounting, choose a motorised vari-focal camera such as the IPC-T651H-Z.
Q.07

Is it weatherproof and how should I power it?

It carries an IP67 rating against dust and rain for outdoor mounting, and runs on PoE (802.3af) over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable from a switch or NVR, or on 12 VDC. Mounting it under an eave still helps reduce direct sun and glare on the lens.
