Description

This HiLook 8MP kit pairs two IPC-T289H-MU/SL 4K active colour-deterrence cameras with a 4-channel PoE NVR — proactive security with evidence-grade detail for a home or small business. Each camera records in full colour to about 30 metres at night, classifies people and vehicles with AcuSense, and adds red and blue strobes, a spotlight and two-way audio so you can warn an intruder off live. At 8MP (3840 × 2160) the footage is sharp enough for faces and vehicle detail. The HiLook NVR-104MH-C-4P powers both cameras over single PoE cables and leaves two spare channels. No hard drive is included.

What the IPC-T289 is

This HiLook 8MP kit combines proactive deterrence with 4K detail — so you can warn an intruder off and, if they ignore the warning, have evidence-grade footage of who they were.

It brings together two IPC-T289H-MU/SL all-in-one colour-deterrence cameras and the HiLook NVR-104MH-C-4P, a 4-channel recorder with built-in PoE so each camera connects over a single network cable that carries power and data.

It suits a home or small business that wants both deterrence and high-resolution evidence at two key spots.

Note these are the standard T289H all-in-one turrets, not the 180° panoramic T289PH model.

Each IPC-T289H-MU/SL records at 8MP (3840 × 2160), capturing the kind of detail that makes faces and vehicle features usable.

On a detected person or vehicle it can flash red and blue strobe lights, switch on a white spotlight and play an audible warning, and its built-in microphone and speaker give you two-way audio to speak to whoever is there from your phone.

It holds full colour to about 30 metres at night with white light and infrared on hand, and AcuSense human and vehicle classification keeps alerts focused on people and cars.

Both cameras are IP67 for outdoor use.

The NVR does not include a hard drive — add a surveillance-grade drive sized to your needs; because 4K fills storage faster than lower resolutions, a 4TB drive is a sensible starting point for two cameras recording continuously.

And the deterrence, two-way audio and one-tap arming features are driven by the included HiLook NVR and the HiLookVision app, so they work as intended here; moving the cameras to a third-party recorder later may limit some linkages.

The 4-channel NVR keeps two spare channels for adding cameras down the track.

What's in the box

Two IPC-T289H-MU/SL cameras with mounting accessories and one HiLook NVR-104MH-C-4P recorder with guides. A hard drive, network cables and a monitor are supplied separately.

Installation requirements

Mount the two cameras over your highest-risk approaches, run one network cable from each to the NVR's PoE ports, and fit a surveillance-grade hard drive before recording. Set up the system in the HiLookVision app or on a monitor, configure the deterrence and AI rules, then test both views and the night colour before relying on it.

Frequently asked about the IPC-T289

Q.01

Is a hard drive included in this kit?
No. The NVR-104MH-C-4P is supplied without a hard drive so you can match storage to your needs. Because 4K cameras fill storage faster than lower resolutions, a 4TB surveillance-grade drive such as a WD Purple or Seagate Skyhawk is a sensible starting point for two cameras, with larger drives for longer retention.

Are these the 180-degree panoramic cameras?
No. This kit uses the standard IPC-T289H-MU/SL all-in-one turret cameras, each with a normal lens. The 180° panoramic single-lens model is the IPC-T289PH, which is a different camera sold separately.
Q.03

What does the active deterrence do?
On a detected person or vehicle, each camera can flash red and blue strobe lights, switch on a white spotlight and sound an audible alarm to warn the intruder off in real time, while sending you a notification. The triggers are set in the HiLookVision app.
Q.04

How does the two-way audio work?
Each camera has a built-in microphone and speaker. Through the HiLookVision app you can listen to the camera location and speak back, so you can challenge a visitor or warn someone off without being on-site. This is driven by the included HiLook NVR and app.
Q.05

Do the cameras record in colour at night?
Yes. Both IPC-T289H-MU/SL cameras keep full colour in low light using white light to around 30 metres, with infrared available for a discreet view. With 8MP resolution as well, that makes identifying faces and vehicle detail after dark much easier.
Q.06

Will the deterrence features work on another brand of NVR?
The cameras support ONVIF for basic recording on third-party NVRs, but the active deterrence, two-way audio and one-tap arming are designed for a HiLook NVR with the HiLookVision app. This kit includes a HiLook NVR, so those features work as intended.
Q.07

Is the kit suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. Both cameras carry IP67-rated metal housings for rain, dust and heat, so they suit gates, driveways, shopfronts and yards. The kit is genuine stock with a local 3-year warranty and support.
