The Hikvision iDS-2CD7AC5G0-IZHS is the bullet member of the 12 MP DeepinView family, made for long, open scenes where a dome would not reach.

A 1/1.7" sensor records 4000 x 3000 video, so one camera covers a wide car park, yard or boundary and still holds the detail to identify a face or vehicle when an operator zooms into the recording.

The motorised 2.8 to 12 mm lens (an 8 to 32 mm version is available for greater reach) sets its zoom and focus remotely from the recorder.

It is a professional AI camera at heart.

On-board deep learning captures and compares faces against on-camera libraries and classifies human and vehicle targets, so perimeter rules such as line crossing and intrusion alarm on real intruders and filter out leaves, animals, light and flags.

That edge intelligence records to a standard Hikvision NVR and pairs best with a DeepinMind recorder when you want central face-library management.

Two honest notes.

Night vision is EXIR infrared to about 50 metres, so the night image is black and white; this is a DarkFighter-style low-light bullet, not a full-colour ColorVu camera.

Audio is via line in and line out connectors only, as this model has no built-in microphone, so add an external mic if you need sound.

The bullet body has an integrated sun shield and is rated IP67 and IK10, with a NEMA 4X anti-corrosion option on the -Y model, and a 12 MP stream is large, so size the recorder and surveillance drives for the bandwidth and use H.265+ to control storage.

Installation & setup

DeepinView bullet camera, mounting base and the printed guide. A pole or wall bracket and a junction box are selected to suit the surface and bought separately.

Power and cabling

Run a single gigabit network cable for PoE (802.3at), or use 12 VDC. A gigabit path keeps the 12 MP stream from being throttled.

Mounting

Fix it high on a solid wall or pole with a steady line of sight, because at the long end of the zoom any sway is magnified, and aim along the run you want covered.

Setup

Set the motorised zoom and focus from the recorder, build the face and human and vehicle perimeter rules, and aim the infrared for the distance you most need at night.

Does it give colour video at night?
No. It uses EXIR infrared to about 50 metres, so the night picture is black and white. It is a DarkFighter-style low-light camera built for detail in the dark, not a ColorVu camera that shows full colour at night under white light.

The processing happens on the camera, with no separate server.

Does it have a microphone?
It does not include a built-in microphone. It provides line in and line out connectors, so you add an external microphone for audio in and an active speaker for audio out if you need them. The camera records video by default.

Do I need a DeepinMind NVR?
Not for recording, as a standard ONVIF or Hikvision NVR works with the camera's edge AI. To manage face libraries and store the face data centrally, pair it with a Hikvision DeepinMind NVR such as the iDS-7716NXI. Older recorders may need a firmware update.

How much storage will 12 MP use?
A 12 MP stream is large, so plan the recorder and drives accordingly. H.265+ compression cuts bandwidth and storage by a wide margin versus H.264, and surveillance-rated drives handle continuous recording. Allow generous capacity for long retention at full resolution.
