The Dahua IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 is a dual-sensor multi-directional dome that puts two independent 4MP channels in a single housing, so one mounting point and one cable drop can cover two directions.

Each lens (one 2.8mm, one 3.6mm) is aimed separately and runs its own full WizMind AI engine, including human and vehicle classification, intrusion, tripwire, loitering, face detection, people counting and SMD 3.0.

With IR to 30m per lens, an IP67 and IK10 metal housing, and 12V DC or PoE power, it suits building corners, car park entries and warehouse doors where covering two approaches from one position saves cabling and mounting work.

Plan two NVR channels per unit

Each camera uses two NVR channel licences. On an 8-channel NVR, four of these cameras fill it. Base channel count on physical positions multiplied by two.

Aim each lens during setup

Set each 2.8mm lens to its own approach or wall face within the dome, then configure WizMind rules per channel for the scene.

Power over PoE or 12V DC

Run a single cable for PoE or provide a 12V DC supply. One cable drop serves both sensors.

Mount on wall or ceiling

Position at a corner, junction or overhead point with a Dahua-compatible mount where surface cabling or extra clearance is required; confirm bracket fit.

Does the IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 replace two cameras?
It replaces two physical camera installations, saving cabling, mounting hardware and labour from one position. However, each sensor registers as a separate channel on your NVR, so it still uses two NVR channel licences. The saving is in installation, not channel count.
Q.02

Do both lenses run WizMind AI at the same time?
Yes. Each channel has its own dedicated AI processing, so intrusion, tripwire, loitering, face detection, people counting and the other WizMind functions run independently on both lenses with no trade-off.
Q.03

Can the two lenses point in different directions?
Yes. The lenses are independently adjustable within the dome, so each can be aimed at a different approach, wall face or coverage zone. That is what makes it suit corners, junctions and split approaches.
Q.04

How far does the night vision reach?
Each lens has its own IR rated to about 30m. The IR works per lens, so both directions keep independent night-time coverage to 30m without one channel affecting the other.
Q.05

Is it suitable for long-range number plate capture?
No. The fixed 2.8mm and 3.6mm lenses are wide-angle for general area coverage. With 30m IR and a wide field of view, it suits entries, corners and area monitoring rather than long-distance identification or LPR.

Does it work with non-Dahua NVRs?
Yes. It supports ONVIF, so it records on compatible third-party platforms. Full WizMind AI event integration is deepest with a Dahua NVR; basic recording works on most ONVIF systems, with AI depth varying by platform.
Q.07

Can I use the microSD as a backup?
Yes. It supports microSD up to 256GB for on-camera edge recording, which preserves footage locally if the network connection drops, with playback once connectivity is restored.

Does it have two-way audio?
It has a built-in microphone for audio recording but no built-in speaker, so it does not provide two-way talk.
