§ 01Overview
What this product is
Lens: 2.8mm.
The DH-IPC-HFW3849T1-AS-PV-ANZ is the TiOC 2.0 generation of Dahua's 8MP deterrence bullet — the model the current S2 replaced, still carrying the complete response package: red and blue lights, siren and voice warnings through the built-in speaker, warm-light full-colour event capture, and genuine two-way talk through dual mics. SMD 4.0 classification and Quick Pick search work with a Dahua AI NVR, and one-tap disarming runs from the DMSS app.
The sensor is the same 8MP F1.0 class as the current model, rated 0.004 lux in colour with 30 metres each of infrared and warm light from a 106° lens. What the S2 generation added is AcuPick support, AI SSA scene adaptation and a 512GB MicroSD ceiling against this model's 256GB — the deterrence an intruder actually experiences is unchanged.
Where it fits: matching existing TiOC 2.0 cameras on a recorder, or taking a saving where AcuPick was never going to be used. It runs from any 802.3af PoE port (9.1W with everything firing), IP67-rated from -40°C to +60°C, and is ONVIF conformant including Milestone integration.

Technical specifications
- 8MP F1.0 Sensor: 3840 × 2160 with colour rated to 0.004 lux — the same night numbers as the current generation.
- Smart Dual Illuminators: 30m infrared everyday; the warm light fires on detection and records the event in full colour.
- SMD 4.0 + Quick Pick: human and vehicle classification, with one-pass event search on a Dahua AI NVR.
- Two-Way Talk: dual mics and a speaker give live conversation through the DMSS app.
- IP67 to -40°C: bullet housing rated for exposed Australian mounting, ONVIF conformant with Milestone support.

§ 04Why choose this
Built for the way you actually use it
Same night numbers as the current model
0.004 lux at F1.0 with 30m of infrared and warm light matches the S2 spec for spec.
SMD 4.0 where it counts
Unlike the older S3, this generation already runs SMD 4.0 — the human and vehicle filtering that makes alerts worth opening.
Buy it for the right reasons
Honest guidance: pick this to match existing TiOC 2.0 cameras or bank a saving — for a new system, the S2 bullet adds AcuPick and AI SSA for a modest step up.
§ 05Where it fits
Right at home in these scenarios
Extending a TiOC 2.0 system
Same generation, same menus, same behaviour as existing ANZ-series TiOC cameras on the recorder — no AI-generation mismatch.
Fence lines and driveways
The bullet body aims down the boundary; a tripwire fires the lights and voice warning at the line, not at the house.
Budget perimeter builds
Across several positions the saving against the current generation adds up, with the intruder-facing response unchanged.
Mixed-vendor recorders
ONVIF conformance with Milestone listed in the datasheet suits sites recording to third-party VMS platforms.
§ 06Setup
Installation & setup
What's in the Box
1. Dahua DH-IPC-HFW3849T1-AS-PV-ANZ Camera × 1 2. Power Connector × 1 3. Quick Start Guide × 1
Installation Requirements
1. Power: any 802.3af PoE NVR port or switch (5.5W typical, 9.1W max with the lights and speaker running). A separate 12V DC adapter is only needed without PoE. 2. Network: a wired Ethernet run back to your NVR or switch — PoE carries power and video together on the same line. 3. Mounting: solid wall or pole with the body aimed along the line you're guarding. The optional PFA130-E junction box keeps the connection weatherproof.
App Setup
1. Download the DMSS app, create an account and scan the device QR code. 2. Enable push notifications, and keep the one-tap disarm switch handy for expected visitors. 3. Draw tripwire and intrusion zones tight to your own property through the camera's web interface — the warning voice, light behaviour and schedules live there too.

New system instead?
The current S2 bullet adds AcuPick support, AI SSA and a 512GB SD ceiling for a modest step up — the default pick when you're not matching existing cameras.
Build it into a system
Use the bundle builder on this page to pair the camera with a 4, 8 or 16 channel Dahua AI NVR and a surveillance drive in one order.
Turret for the eaves?
The HDW3849 S2 turret covers porches and under-eave positions while this bullet takes the boundaries.
