§ 01Overview

What the DH-IPC-HFW3466T-AS-P is

The Dahua DH-IPC-HFW3466T-AS-P is a 4MP WizSense wide-angle bullet that covers a broad scene from a single camera.

It uses one fixed 2.1mm lens to deliver a 180-degree horizontal field of view, not a multi-lens stitched panorama, with lens distortion correction to keep the wide image usable.

EPTZ lets you zoom into and track targets within that wide frame, giving an overview and detail from the same camera.

A 1/2.7-inch 4MP sensor with Starlight low light and 120dB WDR holds detail in dim and backlit scenes, and SMD 3.0 with perimeter protection classifies movement as human or vehicle to keep alerts focused.

A built-in microphone records on-site audio.

Note that Smart IR reaches up to 20m, so this camera is best for shorter-range wide coverage such as a driveway, frontage or yard rather than long-distance identification, and because the view is spread across 180 degrees the detail at the edges is lower than a standard-angle camera.

It records monochrome at night, has a microphone but no speaker, and runs on 12V DC or PoE.

What the DH-IPC-HFW3466T-AS-P features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

4MP Ultra HD

4MP captures roughly twice the detail of standard 1080p.

False Alarm Reduction

Filtering helps separate real activity from harmless movement like rain, leaves or pets, so you get fewer pointless notifications and the alerts that matter stand out.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DH-IPC-HFW3466T-AS-P

One camera, no blind spots

A single 180-degree lens covers a whole frontage or yard from one position, removing the blind spots between separate cameras.

Overview and detail together

EPTZ zooms into and tracks targets within the wide image, so you get situational awareness and a closer look from one camera.

Filtered alerts

SMD 3.0 and perimeter protection classify humans and vehicles, cutting nuisance alerts from animals, foliage and weather.

Simple single channel

Unlike a multi-sensor panoramic, it registers as one channel and sets up like a normal camera, while still covering a wide scene.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Shop frontages and entries

A 180-degree view covers an entire frontage, doorway and footpath from one camera, with classification to focus alerts.

Driveways and courtyards

Removes blind spots across a wide driveway or courtyard, with EPTZ to look closer at activity within the scene.

Car parks and yards

Wide situational coverage of open areas where a single standard-angle camera would leave gaps at the edges.

Corners and wall junctions

Mounted on a wall, the wide lens captures both directions along a frontage or boundary from a single point.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

Mount for wide coverage

Fix the bullet to a wall, eave or corner where the 180-degree lens can take in the whole area. Keep the area of interest within roughly 10 to 15m for the clearest detail.

02

Power over PoE or 12V DC

Run a single PoE network cable from a switch or NVR, or provide a 12V DC supply where PoE is not available.

03

Tidy the cabling

For surface cabling or extra clearance, add a Dahua junction box such as the PFA137; confirm it suits this bullet before ordering.

04

Set EPTZ and smart rules

Configure EPTZ views to zoom into key areas, and set tripwire and intrusion rules with human and vehicle classification across the wide frame.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DH-IPC-HFW3466T-AS-P

Q.01

Is this a dual-lens or multi-sensor panoramic camera?

No. It uses a single fixed 2.1mm ultra-wide lens to produce a 180-degree horizontal field of view, with lens distortion correction. It is not a multi-sensor camera that stitches several images together, so it registers as one channel on your recorder and is simpler to set up than a multi-sensor panoramic.
Q.02

How far can it identify people at night?

Smart IR reaches up to 20m, so it is designed for shorter-range wide coverage rather than long-distance identification. Because the 4MP detail is spread across a 180-degree view, faces and plates are clearest closer to the camera, so mount it where the area of interest is within roughly 10 to 15m for reliable detail.
Q.03

What does EPTZ do on this camera?

EPTZ lets you digitally zoom into part of the wide image and follow targets within it, giving both an overview and a closer view from a single fixed camera. It does not physically move the lens, so it is a digital crop of the wide frame rather than optical zoom.
Q.04

Does it detect people and vehicles?

Yes. SMD 3.0 and perimeter protection classify movement as human or vehicle, so tripwire and intrusion alerts filter out animals, foliage and weather. This keeps notifications focused on genuine targets across the wide field of view.
Q.05

Does it record audio or have two-way talk?

It has a built-in microphone that records on-site audio with the video. There is no built-in speaker, so it captures sound one way and does not support two-way talk.
Q.06

Where does this wide-angle bullet work best?

It suits a single-camera overview of a driveway, shop frontage, courtyard, car park or yard where you want to remove blind spots without installing several cameras. It is best for coverage and situational awareness at shorter range rather than long-distance plate or face identification.
Q.07

How is it powered?

It runs on PoE over a single network cable from a switch or NVR, or on 12V DC where PoE is not available. Power draw is low, so it fits comfortably within a standard PoE budget.
Q.08

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The metal housing is IP67-rated against dust and water across a -40C to +60C range, suiting exposed walls and eaves. Mount under an eave where practical to limit direct weather on the lens and keep the infrared clear.
