About All 8 Camera Kits

8-camera CCTV kits provide full perimeter coverage for larger Australian properties — typically suiting 4+ bedroom homes, dual-occupancy dwellings, properties with extensive boundaries, and small commercial sites. The 8-camera count eliminates blind spots around the entire property: front, back, both sides, plus internal coverage of high-value areas like driveways, garages, and entry foyers.

Every 8-camera kit ships with an 8-channel NVR with built-in 8-port PoE — every channel and port is utilised by the 8 included cameras. For expansion beyond 8 cameras you'll need to upgrade the NVR to a 16-channel model or add a separate PoE switch. PoE single-cable installation per camera and free brand-specific mobile app remote access.

Browse 8-camera kits by brand: Hikvision 8-camera kits, Dahua 8-camera kits, or HiLook 8-camera kits. For larger systems, see Dahua 10-camera kits (unique in Smarket's range, with 16CH NVR for 10 + 6 spare ports). Compare with 6-camera kits.

What's Included in All 8 Camera Kits

8-camera kits available by brand:

Dahua 8 Camera Kits — WizSense + TiOC variants. Active deterrence for full-perimeter intruder response.
HiLook 8 Camera Kits — Hikvision-compatible budget tier.

Need more than 8 cameras? See Dahua 10-camera kits — unique in Smarket's range, ships with 16CH NVR providing 6 spare ports for 16-camera ultimate expansion.

All 8 Camera Kits Configurations & Specs

8-Camera Kit Typical Configuration

Cameras: 8× IP cameras (typically all turret; bullet variants on perimeter possible on request)
NVR: 8-channel with built-in 8-port PoE — all ports utilised
HDD: 4TB surveillance-grade typical
Resolutions: 6MP or 4K configurations
Warranty: 3-year Australian

Storage sizing for 8-camera kits:
• 8 cameras at 6MP continuous → 4TB ≈ 16 days, 6TB ≈ 22 days, 8TB ≈ 30 days
• 8 cameras at 4K continuous → 6TB ≈ 16 days, 8TB ≈ 22 days, 16TB ≈ 44 days
Motion-only recording extends duration 3-5x typical.

Power: typical 8-camera installation draws 80-120W via PoE — well within standard NVR PoE budget. PTZ cameras require PoE+ (802.3at) — most 8-camera residential kits use fixed cameras only and don't have PoE+ requirements.

Comparing All 8 Camera Kits Models

8-Camera Kit Selection Guide

Brand decision identical to smaller kits — choose by AI tier, feature ceiling, and price. At the 8-camera tier the absolute price differences become more meaningful: Hikvision 8-camera 4K AcuSense kits can reach $2,000+ while HiLook 8-camera 6MP kits start under $800. Match the brand to the application: high-detail commercial → Hikvision 4K, residential perimeter → Dahua / Hikvision 6MP, budget commercial / multi-residence → HiLook.

Need active deterrence at all 8 positions? → Dahua 8-camera TiOC kit. Every camera triggers siren + strobe + voice on AI intruder detection. Particularly useful at perimeter boundary positions where prevention matters more than evidence-only recording.

Mix-and-match brand strategy: Within the Hikvision ecosystem (Hikvision NVR + HiLook or Hikvision cameras), you can buy a HiLook 8-camera kit and later upgrade individual high-priority positions to Hikvision premium cameras. Common upgrade pattern: HiLook 8-camera kit + later upgrade front-door + driveway cameras to Hikvision ColorVu 4K variants.

Why Choose All 8 Camera Kits?

Full Perimeter — No Blind Spots
8 cameras eliminate blind spots around larger Australian properties. Cover front + back + both sides + internal high-value positions (driveway / garage / entry foyer) with one complete plug-and-play system. Suits 4+ bedroom homes, dual-occupancy dwellings, and small commercial sites with extended boundaries.

Commercial-Ready Configuration
The 8-camera tier is the natural fit for small commercial sites — retail stores, offices, workshops, and small warehouses — where 4-camera kits leave significant uncovered areas but 16+ camera commercial systems are overkill. Hikvision, Dahua, and HiLook 8-camera kits are widely used for SME premises across Australia.

Mixed Form Factor and Resolution Possible
All 8-camera kit NVRs support mixed cameras on different channels — 4K bullet on the perimeter, 6MP turret at entry points, dome cameras for indoor positions. Standard kits ship with 8 matching turrets; contact Smarket support for custom mixed-form-factor kit configuration.

Common Questions about All 8 Camera Kits

Is 8 cameras the right size for my property?

8 cameras typically suit 4+ bedroom homes, dual-occupancy dwellings, properties with extensive boundaries (large blocks, corner positions, multiple frontages), and small commercial sites — retail, offices, warehouses. For typical 3-bedroom homes, 4-6 cameras is usually sufficient. If you find yourself wanting 9+ cameras, step up to a Dahua 10-camera kit (the only kit-form 10-camera option at Smarket, with 16CH NVR providing 6 spare ports).

Does an 8-camera kit have spare expansion capacity?

No — 8-camera kits ship with 8-channel NVRs where every PoE port is utilised by the 8 included cameras. For expansion beyond 8 cameras you have two options: upgrade the NVR to a 16-channel model (and migrate existing cameras to it), or add a separate PoE switch to power the additional cameras while keeping recording on the existing 8CH NVR (limited to its 8 channels for actual recording). Plan ahead with a Dahua 10-camera kit if you anticipate growth.

What hard drive size do I need for an 8-camera kit?

For 8 cameras at 6MP continuous recording with H.265+ compression, Smarket recommends 6-8TB. A 6TB drive holds approximately 22 days of continuous footage; 8TB holds ~30 days. For 4K systems, step up to 8-10TB minimum. Always use surveillance-grade WD Purple or Seagate SkyHawk drives — never standard desktop drives.

Can I install an 8-camera kit myself?

Yes — all 8-camera kits use PoE single-cable installation. Most homeowners with DIY experience can complete an 8-camera install over a weekend (typically 6-8 hours including cable runs, mounting, configuration). The complexity is mostly in cable management for 8 separate runs. For large or complex sites, professional installation is available — typically $800-1500 depending on cable run difficulty.

Before you buy

What customers ask most before ordering from this range — and how we deliver.

See all FAQs →

How many cameras do I need?

Walk around your property and list every approach: front door, driveway, side gates, back yard, garage. Each one is a camera. A typical house needs 4; a corner block or larger property needs 6–8. Buy an NVR with spare channels — an 8-channel NVR with 4 cameras lets you add more later without replacing anything.

Should I choose 6MP or 8MP (4K)?

8MP (3840 × 2160) gives you noticeably more detail when you zoom into a face or number plate, and with H.265+ compression the extra storage cost is small. 6MP (3072 × 2048) is a good value choice for close-range areas like a front door or side passage. If the camera covers a driveway, street frontage or anything more than about 10 metres away, go 8MP.

How long does delivery take?

Order before 2pm (Sydney time) on a business day and in-stock items are dispatched the same day. Most orders arrive within 1–4 business days Australia-wide; remote and regional areas can take a little longer. You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order leaves the warehouse.

How much is shipping?

Standard shipping is free on all orders over $300 AUD, Australia-wide. Orders under $300 ship at a flat rate of $25, calculated at checkout. Tracking is included on every order.

What warranty do you offer?

All cameras, NVRs and DVRs come with a 3-year back-to-base manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Hard drives and accessories are covered as set out in our Warranty Policy.

What is your return policy?

You have 30 days from the day you receive your order to request a change-of-mind return. Items must be unopened, factory-sealed and in resalable condition. A 15% restocking fee applies and return postage is at your cost. Faulty or incorrectly supplied items are different: we cover the return shipping and refund or replace at no charge. Read the full Return & Refund Policy.

Do you offer installation?

We can connect you with licensed installers in Sydney and Melbourne. Installation typically starts from around $200 per camera depending on cable runs and site conditions. Email sales@smarket.com.au with your address and camera count for a quote.
