§ 01Overview

What the IPC-T381H-MU is

This HiLook 8MP kit is an eight-camera, 4K system on a 16-channel recorder — sized for a larger home or a small-to-medium business that wants sharp evidence with room to grow.

Eight IPC-T381H-MU turret cameras run from a HiLook NVR-216MH-C/16P, which has sixteen built-in PoE ports, so every camera connects over a single network cable that carries power and data.

At 8MP (3840 × 2160) the T381H captures the fine detail that makes faces, clothing and number plates usable as evidence.

Its dual infrared illuminators give even 30 metre night coverage, recording in black and white, and 120 dB true WDR balances bright and dark areas in the same frame.

A built-in arrayed dual microphone captures clearer audio than a single-mic camera, and AcuSense classifies people and vehicles so eight channels of alerts stay relevant.

The IP67 metal housings suit outdoor use and H.265+ keeps the 4K streams efficient.

Two honest notes.

The recorder ships without a hard drive, but it has two SATA bays, and 4K across eight cameras fills storage quickly — fit a surveillance-grade drive in each bay, with a 6TB drive a sensible starting point and each bay taking a drive up to 8TB.

And with eight cameras on sixteen channels you keep eight channels spare for later.

The T381H uses infrared at night and records in black and white; for full colour at night look at the T383H Pro or T269 cameras.

The cameras have a built-in microphone that records sound, but no speaker, so there is no two-way talk-back; and they have no red-and-blue strobe or siren.

If you want talk-back and active deterrence, the HiLook T269 and T289 all-in-one camera kits are the ones to look at.

This is genuine HiLook stock with a local 3-year warranty and support.

What the IPC-T381H-MU features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

8MP Ultra HD

8MP (4K) resolution captures four times the detail of 1080p.
Even when a person or car is far down the driveway, you can zoom in and still recognise a face or read a number plate — detail that lower-resolution cameras lose.

30m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared lets the camera see in complete darkness up to around 30m — enough for a typical driveway, front yard or entrance. People and vehicles stay clear in black-and-white, brighter the closer they are.

Human/Vehicle Detection

Smart detection focuses on people and vehicles and can ignore things like swaying branches, rain or small animals — helping cut down false alerts and making the right moments easier to find.

IP67 Weatherproof

Sealed against dust and water to IP67, built to keep working through rain, storms and harsh sun — suitable for fully outdoor mounting.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the IPC-T381H-MU

Evidence-grade 4K

8MP cameras capture faces and plates clearly and let you zoom into recorded footage and keep detail.

Even night coverage

Dual infrared illuminators light the scene more evenly out to 30 metres in black and white.

Built to grow

Eight cameras on a 16-channel recorder leave eight spare channels and two HDD bays for later.

Fewer false alerts

AcuSense human and vehicle classification keeps notifications about people and cars, not animals or weather.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Larger homes

Cover every approach and the perimeter in 4K with channels and storage to spare.

Small-to-medium business

Watch entries, floors, stockrooms and car parks in evidence-quality 4K on one recorder.

Identification-critical sites

Use 4K where reading faces and plates matters, across a wider property.

Staged rollouts

Install eight now and add cameras on the spare channels as the site changes.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

Eight IPC-T381H-MU 8MP cameras, one NVR-216MH-C/16P recorder and mounting accessories with guides. Hard drives, network cables and a monitor are supplied separately.

02

Installation requirements

Mount the eight cameras across the site, run one network cable from each to the NVR's PoE ports, and fit one or two surveillance-grade drives before recording. Set up in the HiLookVision app or on a monitor, enable AcuSense rules, and test each view and the night mode before relying on it.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the IPC-T381H-MU

Q.01

Is a hard drive included in this kit?

No. The NVR-216MH-C/16P is supplied without a hard drive, but it has two SATA bays. Because 4K across eight cameras uses storage quickly, fit a surveillance-grade WD Purple or Seagate Skyhawk in each; a 6TB drive is a sensible starting point and each bay takes a drive up to 8TB.
Q.02

What does Dual IR mean on the T381H?

It means the camera has two infrared illuminators instead of one, giving more even night coverage out to 30 metres. Night footage is in black and white, which is normal for an infrared camera. For full colour at night, look at the T383H Pro Smart Hybrid Light kits instead.
Q.03

Do the cameras have two-way audio or a strobe?

They have a built-in arrayed dual microphone that records sound, but no speaker, so there is no talk-back, and they have no strobe or siren. For two-way audio and active deterrence, the T269 and T289 all-in-one camera kits are the ones to look at.
Q.04

How is the T381H different from the T282H 8MP kit?

Both are 8MP AcuSense turret cameras with 30 metre infrared night vision and a built-in microphone. The T381H adds dual infrared illuminators for even coverage and an arrayed dual microphone for clearer audio. They are close in capability, so choose on price and availability.
Q.05

How many more cameras can I add later?

This is a 16-channel recorder running eight cameras, so you have eight spare channels for more HiLook or Hikvision IP cameras. Each extra camera connects to a spare PoE port over a single cable.
Q.06

How are the cameras powered and connected?

Over Power over Ethernet. The NVR-216MH-C/16P has sixteen built-in PoE ports, so each camera runs on a single network cable that carries both power and data, with no separate power supplies for the eight included cameras.
Q.07

Can I view the cameras on my phone?

Yes. Set up the free HiLookVision app and Hik-Connect for live view, playback and push notifications. The recorder also gives a local 4K display over HDMI for an on-site monitor.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

01

Add hard drives to record

This NVR ships without a hard drive, and it has two SATA bays. Add a surveillance-grade 2TB drive or 6TB drive sized to how long you want to keep footage; for eight cameras recording continuously a 6TB drive is a sensible starting point, and each of the two bays takes a drive up to 8TB.

02

Don't need spare channels

The 8-camera T381H 8CH kit runs the same eight cameras on an 8-channel recorder for less if you won't expand.
