§ 01Overview
What the IPC3618LE-ADF28K-H is
The Uniview IPC3618LE-ADF28K-H belongs to the Easy series, the range Uniview positions for homes and small retail, and it is an infrared turret rather than a colour-night one. Its 1/2.8" backside-illuminated sensor sits behind an F1.6 lens with U-ISP processing, which is what EasyStar means in practice: colour holds down to 0.005 Lux with AGC on, and with the infrared on it works at 0 Lux, the IR-cut filter switching between the two automatically.
The 4K frame is the point of the camera. At 8 MP (3840 × 2160) it runs at up to 20 fps, and where smoother movement matters more than pixels it steps down to 5 MP, 4 MP or 1080P at up to 30 fps. 120 dB WDR keeps a figure readable against a bright sky, HLC pulls back headlights and BLC lifts a subject standing against the light.
The 2.8 mm lens sees 98.7° across and 53.9° vertically, a wide frame for a door, a porch or a carport rather than a long driveway. It is rated to detect at 86.9 m, observe at 34.8 m, recognise at 17.4 m and identify at 8.7 m, and the identify figure is the one to mount a doorway camera around.
What it does not do is as useful to know. There is a built-in microphone but no speaker, no two-way audio and no alarm or audio input or output, so it records sound and cannot talk back or sound a siren. Its only supplemental light is infrared, so footage of a dark yard is black and white. Detection is cross line and intrusion based on human body detection, with motion, ultra motion, tampering and audio detection alongside; it works with ONVIF Profile S, G and T recorders as well as Uniview's own.

EasyStar pairs a backside-illuminated 1/2.8" sensor with an F1.6 iris and U-ISP processing, and holds colour to 0.005 Lux with AGC on. A porch or street light is often enough to keep dusk footage in colour before the infrared is needed.
Infrared that does not blind up close
Smart IR reaches 30 m and adjusts its output for a subject close to the lens, so a face at the door is not washed out while the fence line stays lit. Control is automatic or manual.
Faces survive a bright background
120 dB WDR holds the gap between a dark porch and the sky behind it, HLC pulls back headlights and BLC lifts a subject standing against the light. These are the three situations that ruin a doorway shot.
Detection that looks for people
Cross line and intrusion are both based on human body detection, so a line across a path or an area over a doorway responds to a person rather than to any movement. Motion, ultra motion, tampering and audio detection run alongside for the rest.
Recording survives a dropout
A microSD card of up to 512 GB sits in the camera, and ANR caches to it when the link to the recorder fails, transferring the footage back afterwards. On its own the camera can record to that card alone.

Front door or porch

Driveway or carport

Mounting
The Uniview IPC3618LE-ADF28K-H mounts straight to an eave or ceiling. For a wall, pole or pendant run, the compatible accessories are TR-JB03-I-IN, TR-A01-IN, TR-SE24-IN, TR-SE24-A-IN, TR-CM24-IN, TR-JB07/WM03-G-IN-V2, TR-WM03-D-IN-V2, TR-UC08-C-V2, TR-WM07P-B and TR-UP06-C-IN-V2; pick the one made for the surface you have.
Cabling and power
Run one Cat5e or Cat6 cable per camera and keep each run under 100 m to the switch or recorder. Power is PoE 802.3af on the same cable at no more than 5.0 W, or 12 V DC to the Ø5.5 mm coaxial plug where there is no PoE.
Keeping water out of the joint
The cable joint on the tail must not be left exposed: it belongs in an integral waterproof space such as a rod chamber, a waterproof junction box, or corrugated or PVC pipe, and a junction box is never mounted horizontally because water pools in it. A taped joint uses self-adhesive rubber tape stretched to about twice its length and half-overlapped.
Aiming and recording
The camera pans through 360°, tilts to 75° and rotates through 360° in its base, so the picture can be squared up after the bracket is fixed. Fit a microSD card of up to 512 GB for edge storage, or add it to a network video recorder that has its own surveillance drive and a monitor on its video output, placed in a ventilated indoor spot near the router rather than a sealed roof space.
App setup
Turn on EZCloud under Setup on the camera's web interface and connect the camera to the router with an address on the router's network segment. Then scan the QR code from the EZCloud page in the app under Devices, Add, Scan, and allow a couple of minutes for it to connect before live view starts.
When you need an electrician
Only for a new power point or for cabling inside a wall cavity, and that work is for a licensed electrician. The camera itself runs on PoE or low-voltage DC and needs no mains work.

The Uniview IPC3618LE-ADF28K-H works at night in black and white: its supplemental light is infrared only, Smart IR to 30 m at 850 nm, and the IR-cut filter switches automatically. A porch or street light keeps colour going longer into the evening.

Does it record sound, and can I talk through it?
It records sound and cannot talk back. The built-in microphone is captured with the video once Audio Input is on and the Mic channel is enabled under Setup, Video and Audio. There is no speaker, no two-way audio and no audio or alarm input or output.

Will it alert on people rather than on every movement?
Yes, for the two perimeter rules: cross line and intrusion are both based on human body detection. Cross line is a virtual line on the live picture with a direction and a sensitivity, and intrusion is a box dragged over an area with a time threshold for how long someone stays inside it, both set under Setup, Intelligent, Smart Settings.

Can it record to a memory card without an NVR?
Yes. A microSD card of up to 512 GB gives edge storage, the recommended arrangement when the camera runs on its own. With a recorder the card also covers a network dropout.

Is it suitable for outdoor installation?
Yes. The metal and plastic housing is rated IP67, works from -30 °C to 60 °C at up to 95% non-condensing humidity, and has 4 KV surge protection. Keep the cable joint in a waterproof space, a junction box or conduit, rather than exposed on the wall.

Will it work with a non-Uniview NVR or with Blue Iris?
It supports ONVIF Profile S, G and T and RTSP, so a recorder or software that uses the same protocol can take it, added with the camera's IP address, its port and its web login. If it shows online with no picture, the three things to try are turning off RTSP authentication on the camera, changing the compression to H.264, and turning off U-code.

How do I view it on my phone?
Through EZCloud: turn it on under Setup on the camera's web interface, then add the camera in the Uniview app by scanning the QR code on its EZCloud page. Allow a couple of minutes for it to connect before live view starts.
