This TP-Link VIGI kit pairs six InSight S455 5MP full-colour turret cameras with the VIGI NVR1008H-8P 8-channel PoE recorder — strong coverage for a larger home or a small-to-medium business. Each camera records in colour around the clock to about 30 metres, classifies people and vehicles to cut false alerts, and has a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio and active deterrence. The 8-port PoE NVR powers and connects all six cameras over a single cable each, with two spare channels for adding more later. No hard drive is included, so you can size storage to suit.

This TP-Link VIGI 5MP kit gives strong coverage with six cameras and an 8-channel recorder — the right size for a larger home with several entry points or a small-to-medium business across a floor and a yard.

It brings together six InSight S455 5MP full-colour turret cameras and the VIGI NVR1008H-8P, which has eight dedicated PoE ports so every camera connects over a single network cable that carries both power and data, with no separate injectors to add.

The S455 cameras record in full colour 24/7.

At 2880 × 1620 they capture sharp detail, a high-sensitivity sensor with white LEDs keeps colour to about 30 metres at night, and 850 nm infrared is on hand for a discreet view.

AI classification of people and vehicles keeps six channels' worth of notifications meaningful rather than constant, and a built-in microphone and speaker on each camera give you two-way audio and active deterrence for listening, speaking and sounding an audible warning.

The IP67 metal housings handle Australian weather, and H.265+ compression keeps the six streams efficient on storage.

The NVR outputs up to 4K over HDMI for crisp local playback.

Two practical notes.

The recorder does not include a hard drive — for six cameras recording continuously at 5MP a 4TB surveillance drive is a sensible minimum, with 6TB or 8TB preferred for longer retention.

And the 8-channel recorder runs the six cameras with two spare channels, so there is room to add a couple more VIGI cameras later.

The cameras ship with the 2.8 mm wide lens, work with the VIGI app, Security Manager or web, and also support ONVIF and RTSP for third-party recorders.

TP-Link VIGI is NDAA compliant, and the kit is genuine stock with a local 3-year warranty and support.

What's in the box

Six VIGI InSight S455 turret cameras (2.8 mm) with mounting accessories, one VIGI NVR1008H-8P recorder and guides. A hard drive, network cables and a monitor are supplied separately.

Installation requirements

Mount the six cameras across the site, run one network cable from each to the NVR's PoE ports, and fit a surveillance-grade hard drive (4TB or larger suggested) before recording. Set up the system in the VIGI app or on a monitor, then test each view and the night mode before relying on it.

Is a hard drive included with this 6-camera kit?
No. The NVR1008H-8P is supplied without a hard drive. For six cameras recording continuously at 5MP, a 4TB surveillance-grade drive is a sensible minimum, with 6TB or 8TB preferred for longer retention. Add a WD Purple or Seagate Skyhawk drive sized to your keep time.

Do the cameras record in colour at night?
Yes. Every S455 keeps full colour in low light using white LEDs to around 30 metres, and can switch to 850 nm infrared, also to 30 metres, for a discreet view. Colour night footage makes people and vehicles far easier to identify than infrared-only images.

Does the NVR power the cameras, or do I need injectors?
The NVR1008H-8P has eight dedicated PoE ports, so each camera is powered and connected over a single network cable straight to the recorder. There are no separate power supplies or PoE injectors to add for the six included cameras.

Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. The 8-channel recorder runs the six included cameras and has two spare channels, so you can add up to two more compatible VIGI cameras without replacing the NVR. That makes it easy to extend coverage as your needs grow.

How does the two-way audio work across the cameras?
Each camera has its own built-in microphone and speaker, so two-way audio works on every channel. Through the VIGI app you can speak through any individual camera to deter an intruder or talk to a visitor at any covered entry point.

Can the cameras be used with a third-party NVR?
Yes. They support ONVIF and RTSP and can be added to a third-party NVR, NAS or software that supports ONVIF, including many Hikvision and Dahua recorders. The included VIGI NVR is recommended for the full smart-event and management features.
