Installation requirements

Mount it recessed into a ceiling or on a surface/pendant on a structure rated for its weight. Power it from a Hi-PoE source or a 24 VAC supply - standard PoE is not sufficient. Connect the network via the RJ45 port, fit a microSD card if you want edge recording, and connect external audio or alarm devices to the terminals if required. For continuous recording, add it to a Hikvision NVR.

No. It is a DarkFighter camera, which means it uses a highly sensitive sensor to produce colour video in very low light down to 0.002 Lux, rather than an IR illuminator. There is no built-in IR, so in complete darkness it needs some ambient or added lighting to see.
