The Hikvision DS-2CD5A26G0-IZHS(Y) is a 2 MP DarkFighter bullet built for sites that destroy ordinary cameras: coastlines, marinas, ports, chemical plants and heavy industry.

The headline feature is the anti-corrosion build.

A NEMA 4X housing, made with two-layer protective spraying and SUS316L stainless-steel screws, resists salt air and chemical exposure, while an IP67 and IK10 rating handles dust, water and impact and a built-in heater keeps it running in the cold.

The imaging is tuned for difficult light rather than long range.

A 1/1.8" sensor with DarkFighter technology holds colour down to 0.002 Lux, and 140 dB true Wide Dynamic Range keeps detail where a scene mixes deep shade and bright sky or water glare.

The motorised 2.8 to 12 mm lens is set remotely, so you frame and focus the shot from the recorder without returning to the pole, and it records smooth 1080p at up to 60 fps to capture fast-moving targets without blur.

On-board deep-learning analytics add six behaviour rules, such as line crossing and intrusion, plus face detection, and there is an alarm input and output for site integration.

Two honest notes.

DarkFighter is a low-light technology, not ColorVu: the camera gives strong colour while some ambient light remains, but once the EXIR infrared is doing the work at night, the image is black and white, with IR reaching up to 50 metres.

It also has no audio.

Choose this camera when the environment is the problem and you need forensic-grade low-light detail in a body that will not corrode; it records to a Hikvision NVR over PoE or runs on 12 VDC, with a micro SD card up to 256 GB for backup.

Anti-corrosion bullet camera, mounting base and the printed guide. A pole or wall bracket and a junction box are selected to suit the surface and bought separately.

Power and cabling

Run a single network cable for standard PoE, or use a 12 VDC supply. On a corrosive site, seal the cable entry and use a junction box so the IP67 and NEMA 4X rating is not undone.

Mounting

Fix it on a wall or pole aimed along the area you want covered, allowing for the motorised zoom range, and seal all penetrations against salt and moisture.
