Description

The Dahua DH-IPC-HFW3649T1-AS-PV-ANZ is a 6 MP TiOC 2.0 active-deterrence bullet camera that does more than record. When it detects a person or vehicle it answers back with red and blue flashing strobes and an audible siren, while dual illumination keeps the footage in full colour at night. It pairs SMD 4.0 human and vehicle classification with two-way audio and an IP67 housing for exposed outdoor positions.

The Dahua DH-IPC-HFW3649T1-AS-PV-ANZ is a 6 MP TiOC 2.0 bullet camera built for outdoor positions where simply recording an intruder is not enough.

TiOC stands for Three-in-One Camera: it combines full-colour imaging, active deterrence and two-way audio in one unit, so it can challenge a threat as it happens rather than just keep a record for later.

When SMD 4.0 classifies a human or vehicle inside a detection zone, the camera triggers red and blue flashing strobes and an audible siren, and an operator can speak through the built-in microphone and speaker.

At night it stays in full colour using a 30 m warm-light illuminator, or falls back to a 30 m infrared illuminator for discreet black-and-white coverage.

A fixed 2.8 mm lens gives a wide view of a driveway, forecourt or yard, and 120 dB WDR holds detail against headlights and bright backgrounds.

A few honest notes so you order correctly: the lens is fixed at 2.8 mm, so it is made for wide close-to-medium coverage rather than zooming in on a distant point.

The active deterrence fires on SMD detection events, so you set the detection zones, schedule and sensitivity in the camera to avoid triggering on a public footpath.

It runs on PoE or 12 VDC and stores footage on a microSD card up to 256 GB or to a Dahua NVR.

What's in the box

One DH-IPC-HFW3649T1-AS-PV-ANZ 6MP TiOC bullet camera with mounting template and fixings. The microSD card, power supply or PoE source and any NVR are supplied separately.

Installation requirements

Mount it on a wall or eave aimed across the area to cover and power it from a PoE switch or NVR or a 12 VDC supply. Connect the network, then set the SMD detection zones, the day and night full-colour or infrared behaviour and the deterrence schedule in the camera. Define zones that exclude public footpaths or neighbouring property so the strobe and siren only fire on your site.

What does TiOC 2.0 mean for everyday use?
TiOC stands for Three-in-One Camera: full-colour imaging, active deterrence and two-way audio in a single unit. Version 2.0 adds SMD 4.0 human and vehicle classification, so one camera can record, warn an intruder and let you speak to site without separate devices.

How does the camera decide when to flash the lights and sound the siren?
The active deterrence is tied to SMD 4.0 detection. When the camera classifies a human or vehicle inside a configured zone it can trigger the strobes and siren. You set the detection zones, schedule and sensitivity in the camera, ideally through its Smart Plan rather than basic motion detection, so it only responds where you want.

Does it record in colour at night without separate lighting?
Yes. A built-in warm-light illuminator provides up to 30 m of full-colour night vision using the camera's own light. A separate infrared illuminator gives 30 m of black-and-white coverage when you prefer discreet recording, and the camera switches based on the scene.

Does it have real two-way audio?
Yes. It has a built-in microphone and a built-in speaker, so an operator can listen to the scene and talk back through the camera, for example to warn someone off after hours via the Dahua DMSS app or a connected NVR.

Can I zoom this camera in on a distant gate?
No. It uses a fixed 2.8 mm lens, which gives a wide field of view for close-to-medium areas such as a driveway or yard. For a tight view of a point more than about 15 to 20 m away you would need a varifocal model such as the 8 MP HDBW3866RP.
Q.06

How is it powered and where does it store footage?
It accepts PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC. PoE is the usual choice because one cable carries power and data. It can record to a microSD card up to 256 GB on the edge, or to a Dahua NVR for continuous recording and remote playback.
Q.07

The strobe lights stopped flashing after a quiet period. Is the camera faulty?
Usually not. Some installers find the deterrence can stop responding after a long idle period, and a PoE power-cycle of the camera restores it. Make sure the deterrence is configured under the Smart Plan and that the firmware is current before assuming a hardware fault.

Which recorder should I use with it?
Use a Dahua WizSense NVR so the SMD human and vehicle events are kept for faster searching. A 4 or 8-channel PoE NVR suits a small site; choose 16 channels for larger jobs.
