The Dahua IPC-HDBW1430DE-SW is a 4 MP Wi-Fi dome camera that connects over 2.4 GHz wireless, so you can add a camera where running a network cable is impractical. The Dahua IPC-HDBW1430DE-SW is a 4 MP Wi-Fi dome aimed at sites where pulling a network cable to the camera is difficult.

It connects over 2.4 GHz wireless and records 2560 x 1440 detail through a fixed 2.8 mm lens, giving a wide view of a room, doorway or porch.

SMD human detection reduces false alarms by focusing on people, and a 30 m infrared illuminator covers night scenes.

It is built for practical wireless installs.

The dome housing is rated IP67 against dust and rain and IK10 against impact, DWDR and 3D noise reduction keep the picture clean in mixed light, and it takes a microSD card up to 256 GB so it can record locally without a wired recorder.

Because it is a wireless camera, you still run a 12 VDC power lead to it, but no data cable.

A few honest notes so it suits your site: it uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, so connect it to your 2.4 GHz network rather than 5 GHz, and place it within good signal range as walls and metal reduce wireless reach.

It is powered by 12 VDC, not PoE, so plan a local power supply at the camera.

Installation requirements

Mount it within good 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi range of your router, on a wall, eave or ceiling, and provide a local 12 VDC power supply. Join it to the 2.4 GHz network, set the SMD human detection rules, and fit a microSD card for local recording or add it to a Dahua NVR over the network. Test the wireless signal at the mounting position before final fixing.

Does the IPC-HDBW1430DE-SW work on 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
No. It connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, so on a dual-band router you need to join the 2.4 GHz network rather than the 5 GHz one. 2.4 GHz also reaches further through walls, which suits a camera position away from the router.

Does it need a network cable?
No data cable is needed because it connects over Wi-Fi. You do still run a power lead to it, as it is powered by a local 12 VDC supply rather than PoE.

Why will my Wi-Fi camera not connect?
Common causes are trying to join a 5 GHz network instead of 2.4 GHz, weak signal from distance or walls, or an IP conflict. Move the camera closer to the router to test, confirm the 2.4 GHz details, and check the power supply. Some users have found a numeric Wi-Fi password resolves connection problems.

Does it record audio?
No. A built-in microphone is not fitted on this model, so it records video only. If you need audio, choose a Dahua camera listed with a built-in microphone.

How far does the night vision reach and is it colour?
It has a 30 m infrared illuminator. Like any infrared camera the night image is black-and-white; the infrared lets it see in complete darkness out to that range.
