SKU: DHI-ITC413-PW4D-IZ3
Description

The Dahua DHI-ITC413-PW4D-IZ3 is a 4MP ANPR (automatic number-plate recognition) access camera built to read licence plates and control a barrier or gate. Using deep-learning AI it recognises plates, plus vehicle type, brand and colour, at speeds up to 120 km/h, and its built-in Wiegand, RS-485 and relay outputs let it open a boom gate or door directly from an allow-list of plates. It has a motorised 8-32 mm varifocal lens for long-range capture from 8 to 30 metres, an integrated IR illuminator and junction box, two-way audio with active deterrence, and an IP67 / IK10 weatherproof and vandal-resistant body.

§ 01Overview

What the DHI-ITC413-PW4D-IZ3 is

The Dahua DHI-ITC413-PW4D-IZ3 is a purpose-built licence-plate camera for entry and exit control.

Where an ordinary camera just records, this one reads: deep-learning AI extracts the number plate and identifies the vehicle's type, brand and colour, even for vehicles with no visible plate, and it does so reliably for traffic moving at up to 120 km/h.

This long-range IZ3 model carries a motorised 8-32 mm varifocal lens with a capture window of 8 to 30 metres, so it suits a longer driveway, a car-park lane or a boom-gate approach.

It is designed to act on what it sees.

Built-in Wiegand, RS-485, two alarm inputs and two relay outputs let the camera drive a boom gate, door or barrier directly — match a plate against an allow-list of up to 110,000 entries and the gate opens, with a block-list of the same size for vehicles to keep out.

It also runs IVS intrusion and loitering detection with a red-and-blue warning light, two-way audio and custom voice broadcast for active deterrence, and it integrates with access platforms such as Paxton Net2 over Wiegand.

A 4MP 1/1.8-inch sensor with 140 dB WDR keeps plates readable against headlights and low sun.

Practical notes for installers.

The IZ3 uses an infrared illuminator (850 nm) — ANPR capture is lit to about 30 m and general video to 60 m, and at night the image is black-and-white, which is normal and ideal for plate contrast.

The whole unit is all-in-one with its illuminator, junction box and bracket integrated, rated IP67 and IK10 in an aluminium-alloy body, and powered by 12 VDC or PoE (802.3at, up to about 20 W).

It takes a microSD card up to 256 GB for on-board storage.

It is genuine Australian Dahua stock with local 3-year warranty and support.

What the DHI-ITC413-PW4D-IZ3 features actually look like

Representative illustrations of how each key feature performs in a real scene.

4MP Ultra HD

4MP captures roughly twice the detail of standard 1080p.

60m IR Night Vision

Built-in infrared sees in total darkness up to around 60m, covering long driveways and large properties. Even well away from the house, people and vehicles remain clear in black-and-white.

Two-Way Audio

Talk and listen in real time through the app — tell a courier where to leave a parcel, or speak to someone at the gate, whether you're home or away.

Blue/Red Strobe

When activity is detected after dark, the camera can flash a bright red-and-blue strobe to warn intruders they've been seen — active deterrence, not just a recording for later.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DHI-ITC413-PW4D-IZ3

Reads plates and controls the gate

Deep-learning ANPR recognises the plate and vehicle, and built-in Wiegand, RS-485 and relays open a barrier from an allow-list — no separate reader needed.

Long-range capture

An 8-32 mm motorised lens captures plates from 8 to 30 m at up to 120 km/h, suiting longer driveways and boom-gate lanes.

More than a plate reader

It also identifies vehicle type, brand and colour, runs intrusion and loitering detection, and deters with light, two-way audio and custom voice.

Built for the gate

All-in-one with integrated illuminator and junction box, IP67 and IK10 rated, on 12 VDC or a single PoE cable.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Automatic boom-gate entry

Open a car-park or estate boom gate for known plates on the allow-list, and log every vehicle in and out.

Business and depot access

Control a yard or loading-dock gate, letting staff and delivery vehicles in automatically while blocking others.

Gated communities and stratas

Give residents plate-based entry to a shared driveway or car park without cards or fobs.

Traffic and site monitoring

Capture vehicle type, colour and movement at an entrance for security records and incident review.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One DHI-ITC413-PW4D-IZ3 ANPR camera with integrated junction box and bracket. A PoE switch or 12 VDC supply, mounting pole or surface, and any barrier/access controller are supplied separately.

02

Installation requirements

Mount it facing the lane at the recommended height and angle for the capture zone, set the 8-32 mm lens for an 8-30 m plate-reading distance, and power it from PoE (802.3at) or 12 VDC. Configure the allow/block-lists and the Wiegand, RS-485 or relay link to your gate or access controller, then test plate reads day and night before going live; professional setup is recommended for reliable ANPR.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DHI-ITC413-PW4D-IZ3

Q.01

What is the ITC413-PW4D-IZ3 designed to do?

It is an ANPR access camera that reads vehicle number plates and controls a gate or barrier. It recognises the plate and the vehicle's type, brand and colour, and its built-in Wiegand, RS-485 and relay outputs can open a boom gate or door automatically when a plate matches your allow-list.
Q.02

How fast can a vehicle be moving for it to read the plate?

This long-range IZ3 model reads plates for vehicles travelling up to 120 km/h in the recommended setup, with a published capture rate of 99% and plate-recognition rate of 96% or better under good conditions. For a gate or car-park lane, where vehicles are slow, that gives a lot of margin.
Q.03

At what distance does it capture plates?

Its 8-32 mm motorised varifocal lens gives a capture window of about 8 to 30 metres, so it suits a longer driveway, lane or boom-gate approach. You zoom and focus it remotely to frame the plate-reading zone for your site.
Q.04

Can it open a boom gate or barrier by itself?

Yes. It has Wiegand, RS-485, two alarm inputs and two relay outputs, so it can drive a barrier or door directly, or feed an access controller such as Paxton Net2. Add a plate to the allow-list of up to 110,000 entries and the camera triggers the gate when it sees that vehicle.
Q.05

Does it see in colour at night?

No. The IZ3 model uses an infrared illuminator, so at night the image is black-and-white. That is normal and actually preferred for ANPR, because IR gives the cleanest plate contrast. The IR lights plates to about 30 m and general video to about 60 m.
Q.06

Does it need a separate NVR or can it work standalone?

It can work standalone for access control — it makes the recognition decision and drives the gate on its own, and stores events to a microSD card up to 256 GB. For recorded video and central management you can also add it to a Dahua NVR or DSS platform over the network.
Q.07

How is it powered and is it weatherproof?

It runs on 12 VDC or PoE (802.3at, up to about 20 W), so a single network cable can power and connect it through a PoE switch. The body is IP67 and IK10 rated in aluminium alloy, built for outdoor entry points and resistant to weather and impact.
Q.08

Will it read Australian number plates?

Australia and New Zealand are on Dahua's supported region list for this camera's ANPR. Recognition accuracy depends on correct installation, lens setup and lighting, so follow the recommended mounting and capture-distance guidance for the best results.

§ 09Bundles

Recommended packages

03

Drive a barrier or access system

Its Wiegand, RS-485 and relay outputs connect to a boom gate or an access controller (for example Paxton Net2) to open on a recognised plate.

04

Add general CCTV cover

Pair it with a WizMind camera such as the WizMind 4MP bullet to watch the wider entrance as well as read plates.
