§ 01Overview
What this product is
Lens options: 2.8mm focal length.
Color options: White or Black.
Note: Please indicate your choice in your order message.
This 8-camera 4K kit pairs eight DH-IPC-HDW3866EMP-S-AUS 8MP turrets with the 8-channel DHI-NVR4108HS-8P-AI/ANZ recorder and a pre-installed 4TB surveillance drive — recording starts as soon as the cameras are plugged in.
Eight cameras is full-perimeter coverage: every wall of a large home or business premises watched, with no blind approach left. At 8MP every view holds enough detail to zoom into recorded footage and still read it — faces identify to about 8.8 metres, and SMD 4.0 classifies humans and vehicles so the recorder only alerts on what matters.
This kit uses all eight channels, and eight 4K streams fill the 4TB drive in around 8 days of continuous recording — set motion-only recording, or upgrade the drive with the kit customiser on this page.

Technical specifications
- 8CH AI NVR: DHI-NVR4108HS-8P-AI/ANZ with PoE on every channel — each camera runs off a single Ethernet run from the recorder.
- 4TB Surveillance HDD pre-installed: around 8 days of continuous 4K footage from eight cameras — upgrade the drive for longer retention, or use motion-only recording.
- SMD 4.0 + Quick Pick: the NVR's AI search pulls every human or vehicle event from a day of recordings in one pass.
- Perimeter Protection: tripwire and intrusion zones with human/vehicle classification, configured per camera.
- IP67 Metal Housings: rated from -40°C to +60°C for exposed Australian mounting positions.

§ 04Why choose this
Built for the way you actually use it
Full perimeter, no blind approach
Eight cameras watches every wall and corner of a large home or business — the layout where an intruder can't reach the building off-camera, recorded in zoomable 4K.
Alerts that are worth opening
SMD 4.0 classifies humans and vehicles before notifying you, so the 2am alert is a person in your driveway — not a possum, headlights or rain.
Find footage in seconds
With eight channels recording, scrubbing timelines is hopeless — Quick Pick on the AI NVR pulls every human and vehicle event from all cameras in one search.
§ 05Where it fits
Right at home in these scenarios
Large two-storey home
Every external wall covered plus the porch and garage close-ups — eight 4K cameras mean no approach to the house goes unrecorded.
Business premises
Entries, counter, storeroom, rear dock and all external walls on one recorder, with audio at the counter where conversations matter — check your state's recording rules before enabling mics.
Small apartment or strata block
Common entries, car park access, bin and mail areas — one recorder covers the shared spaces residents actually report issues from.
Acreage homestead
House approaches, carport, machinery shed and the yard between them — SMD 4.0 ignores wildlife and stock movement while flagging people and vehicles.
§ 06Setup
Installation & setup
What's in the Box
1. Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3866EMP-S-AUS Camera × 8 2. DHI-NVR4108HS-8P-AI/ANZ NVR with 4TB HDD installed × 1 3. NVR Power Adapter × 1 4. Quick Start Guide × 1
Installation Requirements
1. Each camera needs one Ethernet run back to the NVR — the PoE ports carry power and video together, up to 100m per run. 2. Mount on a solid wall or eave; under-eave positions keep lenses clear of direct rain and afternoon sun. 3. Connect the NVR to your router with a short Ethernet patch lead for remote viewing — works on all NBN connection types.
App Setup
1. Download the DMSS app, then scan the QR code shown on the NVR screen (Main Menu → Network → P2P). 2. Enable push notifications in DMSS so SMD alerts reach your phone. 3. Fine-tune detection zones per camera through the NVR or camera web interface.

§ 09Bundles
Recommended packages
Need more channels?
The 10 camera kit steps up to a 16 channel NVR with six spare channels — the right call if gates, sheds or a granny flat are on the horizon.
Recording continuously?
Eight 4K streams fill 4TB in around 8 days — on this kit a drive upgrade is strongly worth it. Size it up with the kit customiser before checkout.
Add mounts where walls don't suit
The PFB204W wall mount and PFA130-E junction box handle carport posts and fascia boards where a straight mount doesn't fit.
