Dahua DHI-ARD822-W2 Wireless Panic Button
The Dahua DHI-ARD822-W2 is a dual-button wireless panic button for the Dahua AirShield alarm system. It needs both buttons pressed together to raise an alarm, which makes accidental activation far less likely — ideal for busy counters, schools or anywhere a single button could be knocked. The alert goes to your AirShield hub and your phone. It is IP54 rated, battery powered, and links to the hub over an encrypted 868 MHz two-way connection. An AirShield hub is required and sold separately.
Key points
- Two buttons pressed together raise the alarm — strong false-alarm prevention

§ 01Overview
What the DHI-ARD822-W2 is
The Dahua DHI-ARD822-W2 is the dual-button version of the AirShield panic button. Instead of a single press, it needs both buttons pressed at the same time to raise an emergency alarm, which all but rules out a false alert from a bump, a child or a pocket. When it does fire it sends an immediate alarm to your AirShield hub and your phone, and a multi-status LED shows pairing and signal with battery level visible in the DMSS app.
It is the right choice where a button is in reach of a lot of people or movement — a shop counter, a classroom, a reception desk — but still needs to be quick to use in a real emergency. The IP54 casing handles dust and splashes, it mounts on a wall or is carried, and it links to the hub over 868 MHz two-way radio with AES128 encryption and frequency hopping at up to 1,200 m in open space.
Honest notes: like every AirShield device it needs a Dahua AirShield hub and is not a standalone alarm; you set in the app what the alarm does and who is notified. If you would rather a one-press button, the ARD821-W2 is the single-button model. It runs on a CR2032 cell for around three years with a low-battery warning, and it is genuine Australian Dahua stock with local 3-year warranty and support.

§ 04Why choose this
Built for the way you actually use the DHI-ARD822-W2
Still fast in an emergency
A deliberate two-finger press is quick and natural, so genuine emergencies are not slowed down.
Where it needs to be
IP54 rated and compact, it mounts at a counter or desk or is carried, with battery level visible in the app.
Confirmed, secure link
868 MHz two-way radio with AES128 encryption and frequency hopping confirms each alarm and resists interference.
§ 05Where it fits
Right at home in these scenarios
Retail counters and tills
Fit one where staff can reach it during a hold-up, with the two-button action preventing accidental alarms in a busy area.
Schools and reception desks
Use it where many people pass a fixed button and false presses would otherwise be common.
Duress alarm in an office
Place it under a desk as a discreet duress button that will not fire by mistake.
Shared or public areas
Mount it where a single-press button would be too easily knocked, keeping false alarms down.
§ 06Setup
Installation & setup
What's in the box
One DHI-ARD822-W2 dual panic button with a CR2032 battery; strap or bracket mounting options depending on the variant. A Dahua AirShield hub is required and not included.
Installation requirements
Enrol it to your AirShield hub in the DMSS app and set what a combined press does and who is alerted. Mount it where staff can reach both buttons easily, and test a press to confirm a good two-way signal before relying on it.

§ 09Bundles
Recommended packages
Pair it with an AirShield hub (required)
The button needs a hub to work — build your system on the DHI-ARC3800H-FW2 Alarm Hub 2, or the smaller DHI-ARC3000H-FW2 hub.
Prefer a one-press version?
For a single-button panic button, choose the ARD821-W2 panic button.
Make the alarm heard
Add an ARA12-W2 indoor siren indoors and an ARA13-W2 outdoor siren outside so an alarm is loud and obvious.
Build the rest of the system
Add detection with a ARD1233-W2 PIR detector and arming with the ARK30T-W2 keypad or ARA24-W2 keyfob.
