§ 01Overview

What the DHI-ARA13-W2 is

The Dahua DHI-ARA13-W2 is the outdoor voice of a Dahua AirShield alarm. When the system is triggered it drives a high-output sounder of up to 110 dB at one metre together with a bright flashing strobe from its ring of alarm LEDs, so neighbours and passers-by both hear and see that something is wrong — a strong visible deterrent on the outside of a building. It can play different tones for intrusion, fire, panic and other events.

It is built for the weather. The IP65 housing keeps out dust and driving rain and it runs from -25 C to +60 C, so it is happy on an exposed wall through summer and winter. It connects to the hub over 868 MHz two-way radio with AES128 encryption and frequency hopping at up to 1,600 m in open space, and a tamper alarm triggers if anyone tries to remove or open it.

On power and pairing: it runs on four CR123A batteries for around 3.4 years, or you can wire it to a 9-15 V DC supply for permanent power, and it reports low battery before it runs out. Like every AirShield device it needs a hub to work, and it is usually paired with an indoor siren so the alarm is loud inside as well as out. It is genuine Australian Dahua stock with local warranty and support.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DHI-ARA13-W2

Seen and heard

Up to 110 dB of sound plus a bright strobe makes an alarm obvious from outside and a strong visible deterrent on the wall.

Built for the weather

An IP65 housing rated from -25 to +60 C stands up to dust, rain and a full Australian summer or winter on an exposed wall.

Flexible power

Run it on CR123A batteries for around 3.4 years or hard-wire 9-15 V DC for permanent power, whichever suits the install.

Tamper protected

A tamper alarm fires the instant someone tries to remove or open it, so it cannot be quietly disabled.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Visible deterrent on the wall

Mount it high on a front or side wall so the sound and strobe warn off intruders and alert neighbours.

Homes and small business

Add outdoor presence to a residential or shopfront AirShield system where being heard outside matters.

Rural and large properties

The long wireless range and weatherproof housing suit sheds, gates and outbuildings away from the main hub.

Pair with an indoor siren

Combine with the ARA12-W2 so the alarm is loud both inside the building and out.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One DHI-ARA13-W2 outdoor siren with mounting hardware and 4 x CR123A batteries. A Dahua AirShield hub is required and not included.

02

Installation requirements

Mount it high on an outside wall where the sound and strobe are visible and hard to reach, fit the batteries or wire a 9-15 V DC supply, and enrol it to your AirShield hub through the DMSS app. Use the signal-strength check to confirm a good link, then run a test alarm before arming. Mounting it out of easy reach improves the tamper protection.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DHI-ARA13-W2

Q.01

Does the ARA13-W2 outdoor siren work on its own?

No. It is a siren for the Dahua AirShield system and needs an AirShield hub to trigger it. On its own it has nothing to tell it when to sound.
Q.02

How loud is it and does it have a strobe?

It produces up to 110 dB at one metre, very loud for outdoors, alongside a bright flashing strobe from its ring of alarm LEDs. The combination of sound and light makes an alarm obvious to neighbours and a strong visible deterrent on the outside of a building.
Q.03

Is it weatherproof enough for an exposed wall?

Yes. It has an IP65-rated housing that resists dust and driving rain and operates from -25 C to +60 C, so it is suited to an outside wall in Australian and New Zealand conditions all year round.
Q.04

What powers it and how long does it last?

It runs on four CR123A batteries for around 3.4 years, or you can connect a 9 to 15 V DC supply for permanent power. It reports a low battery before the cells run out.
Q.05

How far can it be from the hub?

Up to 1,600 metres in open space. On a normal house or business the siren and hub are well within that, with plenty of margin for walls and distance across the property.
Q.06

Can it be quietly disabled by an intruder?

No. It has a tamper alarm that triggers immediately if the siren is removed or its cover is opened, so any attempt to silence it sets off the alarm instead.
Q.07

Should I also have an indoor siren?

Many systems use both. The outdoor ARA13-W2 alerts neighbours and deters from outside, while an indoor siren such as the ARA12-W2 makes sure the alarm is loud and clear to anyone inside the building.
Q.08

Is this the Australian model?

Yes. It is the 868 MHz AirShield outdoor siren supplied as genuine Australian Dahua stock with local 3-year warranty and support, matching the AirShield hubs and peripherals sold here.
