Dahua DHI-ARA12-W2 Alarm Wireless Indoor Siren

SKU: DHI-ARA12-W2
Description

The Dahua DHI-ARA12-W2 is a wireless indoor siren for the Dahua AirShield alarm system. When the system is triggered it sounds a loud alarm of up to 84 dB to startle an intruder and alert anyone inside, with three volume levels so you can match it to the room. It links to your AirShield hub over an encrypted 868 MHz two-way connection and runs on batteries, so there is no wiring to run. An AirShield hub is required and sold separately.

§ 01Overview

What the DHI-ARA12-W2 is

The Dahua DHI-ARA12-W2 is a battery-powered wireless siren that makes a Dahua AirShield alarm impossible to ignore indoors. When the hub triggers an alarm it sounds at up to 84 dB at one metre, loud enough to startle an intruder and wake or alert the household, and three volume levels let you tune it down for a small unit or up for a larger home or office.

Because it is fully wireless it mounts on its bracket wherever you need sound — a hallway, stairwell or central room — with no cabling. It connects to the hub over 868 MHz two-way radio with AES128 encryption and frequency hopping at up to 1,000 m in open space, and a tamper alarm flags any attempt to prise it off the wall. A test mode and signal-strength check help you place it well, and it even monitors temperature.

A couple of honest notes: this is the indoor screamer, designed to be heard inside — for a weatherproof siren and strobe on an outside wall, pair it with the outdoor ARA13-W2. It runs on two CR123A batteries for around 2.5 years with a low-battery warning, and like every AirShield device it needs a hub to work. It is genuine Australian Dahua stock with local warranty and support.

§ 04Why choose this

Built for the way you actually use the DHI-ARA12-W2

Loud where it counts

Up to 84 dB indoors startles an intruder and alerts everyone inside, with three volume levels to suit the room.

Truly wireless

Battery power and a two-way 868 MHz link mean you mount it anywhere you want sound, with no cabling to run.

Tamper protected

A built-in tamper alarm fires the moment someone tries to remove it, so it cannot be silently disabled.

Low maintenance

Around 2.5 years on CR123A batteries with a low-battery warning keeps upkeep to a minimum.

§ 05Where it fits

Right at home in these scenarios

Central indoor alarm

Mount it in a hallway or stairwell so a triggered alarm is heard throughout the home.

Apartments and small offices

Use a lower volume level where a full-power outdoor siren would be too much, while still alerting occupants.

Pair with an outdoor siren

Run it alongside the ARA13-W2 so the alarm is loud both inside and outside the building.

Expanding a system

Add a second indoor siren to a larger home so upstairs and downstairs are both covered.

§ 06Setup

Installation & setup

01

What's in the box

One DHI-ARA12-W2 indoor siren with mounting bracket and 2 x CR123A batteries. A Dahua AirShield hub is required and not included.

02

Installation requirements

Fix the bracket to an indoor wall in a central, audible spot, clip on the siren and enrol it to your AirShield hub through the DMSS app. Use the test mode and signal-strength check to confirm a good two-way link, then trigger a test alarm to set the volume level before arming.

§ 07Questions

Frequently asked about the DHI-ARA12-W2

Q.01

Does the ARA12-W2 siren work on its own?

No. It is a wireless siren for the Dahua AirShield system and needs an AirShield hub. The hub decides when to sound it, so on its own it has nothing to trigger it.
Q.02

How loud is 84 dB, and can I turn it down?

84 dB at one metre is loud for an indoor space, similar to a busy street or an alarm clock right beside you, and it is meant to be startling and impossible to sleep through. Three volume levels let you set it lower for a small flat or higher for a larger home or office.
Q.03

Is this an indoor or outdoor siren?

It is an indoor siren, built to be heard clearly inside the building. For a weatherproof sound-and-strobe siren on an outside wall, use the outdoor ARA13-W2 instead, or run both for inside and outside coverage.
Q.04

Do I need to run any wiring?

No. It is fully wireless and battery powered, so it mounts on its bracket wherever you want the sound, with no cabling to the hub or to power.
Q.05

What happens if someone tries to rip it off the wall?

It has a built-in tamper alarm that triggers immediately if the siren is removed or interfered with, so an intruder cannot quietly disable it without setting off the alarm.
Q.06

How long do the batteries last?

It runs on two CR123A batteries for around 2.5 years in normal use, with a low-battery warning before they run out. CR123A cells are a standard, widely available type you can replace yourself.
Q.07

How many sirens can one system have?

A Dahua AirShield hub supports up to six sirens, so you can place indoor and outdoor sirens around a property to make sure an alarm is heard everywhere.
Q.08

Will it tell me if the signal is weak?

Yes. It has a signal-strength check and a test mode so you can confirm a reliable two-way link to the hub during setup before you rely on it.
