Description

The Dahua DHI-ARD323-W2(S) is a wireless magnetic door and window detector for the Dahua AirShield alarm system. A sensor and a separate magnet sit on the door (or window) and its frame; when the door is opened while the system is armed, the magnet moves away from the sensor and the alarm is triggered. You can see the live open or closed state of every door and window in the DMSS app. It links to the hub over an encrypted two-way RF connection and runs on a battery. An AirShield hub is required and sold separately.

The Dahua DHI-ARD323-W2(S) guards a door or window on a Dahua AirShield alarm.

It is a two-piece magnetic contact: a sensor body on the frame and a small magnet on the moving door or window.

While the system is armed, opening the door separates the magnet from the sensor and raises the alarm at the hub and on your phone.

Even when disarmed, the DMSS app shows whether each protected door or window is open or closed, which is handy for a quick check that the house is shut up.

It is built to be easy to live with.

The slim casing mounts discreetly on most door and window frames, the reed contact responds when the magnet moves more than about 40 mm away, and it carries a tamper alarm, signal-strength detection, ambient temperature monitoring and a low-battery warning.

The link to the hub is two-way with frequency hopping and AES128 encryption, so it stays connected and protected.

It is designed for non-metal doors and frames — a metal surface weakens the magnetic field, so on a metal door you fit non-metal spacers or use the small-magnet option.

What's in the box

One DHI-ARD323-W2(S) door detector (sensor plus magnet) with a CR123A battery and mounting hardware. A Dahua AirShield hub is required and not included.

Installation requirements

Mount the sensor on the fixed frame and the magnet on the moving door or window, aligned and close together when shut. On metal frames add non-metal spacers. Enrol it to your AirShield hub in the DMSS app, then open and close the door to confirm it reports and the signal to the hub is good before relying on it.

How does the ARD323-W2 detect a door opening?

Does it work on its own?
